The Sixers collapsed on Thursday despite the best efforts of Dario Saric, who fell one assist shy of his first career triple-double with a line of 18 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, two steals, two block and one 3-pointer in a 114-109 defeat at the hands of the visiting Raptors.
Philadelphia was up by 22 in the third quarter but wilted down the stretch, letting the Raptors charge back to tie things early in the fourth before surrendering their long-held lead about midway through the fourth. It’s going to take some of the shine off a fantastic night from Saric, who established a career-high with his nine dimes. He also shot 7-of-10 from the field in his 37 minutes and proved to be a tough cover for whoever Toronto offered up. The Homie has been reinvigorated by his shift into the starting five, posting top-30 numbers over the past two weeks and climbing into the top-80 on the full season. He’s a much safer bet to settle somewhere around the top-100 but being removed from his bench role may have saved his fantasy season. Keep rolling Saric out there.
