DeMar DeRozan’s best efforts couldn’t keep the Raptors’ six-game win streak alive as the Northsiders dropped a 110-106 decision to the Hornets.
DeRozan did his part, shooting 11-of-24 on his way to 28 points with six boards, eight assists and just two turnovers. He’s seen his assist numbers spike since Kyle Lowry went down with a wrist injury and has really made great strides as a facilitator. DDR is much improved at passing out of double teams and the addition of Serge Ibaka has given him a tremendous safety valve in the pick and pop game. Good shooting nights like this are just gravy, as DeRozan can be comfortably penciled in for 20-plus points and helpful contributions in free throws, boards and assists every time he hits the floor. Keep riding him.
