Draymond Green scored a career-high 37 points in Saturday’s Game 3 loss to the Blazers, hitting 12-of-23 shots (including eight threes) with nine rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one block over 41 minutes.
If you a) thought David Lee should have been getting minutes over Green way back when or b) you think Green isn’t an elite NBA player maybe this will wake you up. Truthfully, though, he had a number of flaws in this game on the defensive side and that’s the scary part. Klay Thompson poured in 35 points on 14-of-28 shooting, but the Warriors couldn’t contain the Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum and Al-Farouq Aminu and it might not be the worst thing in the world. The Warriors can choose to rest Stephen Curry for another game and bring him back for his tune-up in Game 5, and one has to wonder if that thought didn’t creep into everybody’s heads as they all played a little bit flat.
