James Harden couldn’t quite drag the Rockets across the finish line on Friday despite 44 points, six rebounds, six assists and four triples in 38 minutes.
Just another terrific day at the office for Harden. He had a chance to win the game, coming up just short on a three point attempt with Houston down two in the closing seconds. Mike D’Antoni opted not to call a timeout off a missed Thunder free throw and Harden was unable to capitalize on the play. Still, he doubled the efforts of Houston’s second leading scorer and was a perfect 18-for-18 from the free throw line. The Beard is shown all kinds of defensive looks and gets the league’s best defenders thrown at him night after night and none of it seems to matter.
