Kemba Walker single-handedly brought the Hornets back in their overtime comeback win over the Magic on Friday, finishing with 40 points on 14-of-28 shooting (2-of-7 3PTs, 10-of-12 FTs) with seven rebounds, nine assists, four steals and one block in 46 minutes.
Walker really threw his hat into the ring for an All Star berth with this outing, and it’s too bad that both he and Isaiah Thomas probably both can’t make it while some legacy selections are probably going to happen (Chris Bosh, Pau Gasol). Thomas, for his part, has been just as exhilarating and his team is performing better. Walker has been a beast selection for owners with top 14-18 value (9/8 cat) while shooting a career-best 43.8 percent on 16.0 attempts, also a career-high. All of his numbers are up across the board and though there will be a shooting regression and volume dip, it’s also possible that this talented player simply got better. We’re not selling high unless it comes for a top-25 player that is very well situated.
