Kevin Love (illness) played just 23 minutes in Friday’s road win over the Magic, scoring 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including three treys) with six rebounds and two assists.
Love was benched for the entire fourth quarter for Channing Frye (14 points, four treys) and it had nothing to do with the illness. This has been going on for two seasons now and it’s hard to think there isn’t some sort of residual issue that is gnawing at either the Cavs, Love or LeBron as he isn’t getting the minutes a massive salary guy normally gets. LeBron scored 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting with seven boards, eight assists, one steal, one block and 6-of-6 FTs, and Kyrie Irving decided not to further annoy teammates by passing the ball as he had five assists to go with 26 points, two threes and 6-of-6 makes from the line.
