The Wolves bested the Lakers by a 121-104 score in the final game of the Christmas slate despite the best efforts of Kyle Kuzma, who shot 8-of-18 from the field and 6-of-11 from deep to post 31 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 41 minutes of action.
Kuzma has been a rookie sensation for the Lakers and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. He did go only 9-of-13 from the free throw line tonight but did a nice job of being aggressive and earning his freebies in the first place. Kuzma’s scored at least 18 points in his last seven games and has 20 or more in five of them. He leads the Lakers in points and 3-point percentage and is tied for the team lead in rebounding, and he’s also the most only Laker that’s shooting over 50 percent from the field on more than 10 attempts per game. Anyone who plucked him off the wire early in the year is sitting on a comfortable top-75 asset, so congratulations are in order to that lucky bunch.
