Nikola Vucevic was simply masterful on Saturday night in Atlanta, shooting 13-of-18 and scoring 30 points while adding 13 rebounds, 10 assists, a steal, a block and four triples in his first career triple-double.
What a night for Vooch, who has truly elevated his game this season. Vucevic currently sits in the top-15 on a per-game basis and is a comfortable first round guy on total value. He’s averaging career-highs in blocks and assists while shattering his previous 3-point output. Vucevic has 38 triples this season after making 30 in his first six seasons combined. He won’t be this excellent all season long but there won’t be many owners looking to sell high here. Vucevic should finish inside the top-40 this year, which is a great step forward into some rarefied air. He should be a slam dunk All Star selection this season, but the league’s sheer star power leaves him on the bubble. Let’s give the man his due come February.
