Patrick Beverley scored a season-high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting (including five threes) with five rebounds, a career-high 10 assists, one steal and one block in the Rockets’ 116-111 win over the Wolves on Friday.
We’ve always thought the Rockets could improve with more usage for Beverley and a little bit less out of James Harden, and we’ve been seeing that a little bit here over the last month or so. In the process Beverley has been a top-50 play over the last two weeks and is a must-start player next week. Harden had his usually productive night with 29 points, five boards, 14 assists, three steals, three treys and nine turnovers, and Dwight Howard went for 10 and 11 with one steal and one block as he got benched down the stretch. The Rockets are a game ahead of the Mavs as they sit in the seven-slot in the West.
