Paul George was electric on Saturday afternoon, dropping 29 points with five rebounds, seven assists, a steal and six threes.
George shot 9-of-19 in 41 minutes and kept the Pacers within reach for most of the afternoon. PG continues the torrid stretch that’s the only reason Indy made the postseason at all and he nearly led the team to a massive comeback win. He was met with a double team on the final possession and missed a wide open Lance Stephenson underneath the bucket before passing out to C.J. Miles. In his defense, it would’ve been a spectacular pass through the double and Stephenson really should’ve been in a better spot to help alleviate the ball pressure, but you’ll probably only see the still photo of Lance wide open. It looked like he wanted the ball back from Miles but never got it, as the stretch four’s final shot came up just a tick short. There’s no signs of him slowing down any time soon as the Pacers very nearly stole a win in Cleveland. Expect more excellence in Game 2.
