Paul Millsap (eye) scored 26 points on 9-of-20 shooting (1-of-4 3PTs, 7-of-8 FTs) with six rebounds, five assists and two steals in the Hawks’ 105-98 win over the Pistons on Friday.
Millsap has somewhat rehabbed his value into the top-40 range but for a guy that some sites called a ‘first round lock’ it’s not good enough. The problem is the efficiency with just 44.2 percent shooting on a healthy 14.4 attempts per game. Because the Hawks rely on him to create more offense than ever before, it’s fair to wonder if he can make up the near three percent gap from last year’s 47 percent mark. His blocks (0.9) are also way down from last year’s outlier (1.7) season.
