Rodney Hood took over the role of No. 1 scorer with no problems in the Jazz’s 94-85 win over the Cavs on Monday, scoring 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting (4-of-9 3PTs, 6-of-6 FTs) with two rebounds and one assist.
Hood’s back didn’t appear to be a problem even though he has made many mentions of it being in ongoing pain. With the Jazz deep in the heat of the playoff chase, the team might try and get him a game off here or there but it doesn’t seem likely. Derrick Favors added 19 points with five rebounds, one steal and three blocks in the win. Hood has struggled a bit lately but owners should plug him into lineups going forward unless news on the health-front worsens.
