Russell Westbrook scored 38 points on 16-of-28 shooting with nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block in 37 minutes in Monday’s 95-94 win over the Nuggets.
With Paul George and Carmelo Anthony struggling, Westbrook returned to his MVP form from last year and completely took over the game. His usage was huge tonight, and he managed to convert over 50 percent of his looks from the field while going 5-of-7 from the charity stripe. Percentages have been a struggle for Westbrook this year, as he is ranked outside the top-50 despite tonight’s huge performance largely due to his woes at the charity stripe. He still can provide early-round value given his ability to rack up counting stats, but owners should expect some ugly games to accompany big ones like tonight.
