Russell Westbrook notched his NBA-record 42nd triple-double of the season on Sunday, finishing with an eye-popping 50 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.
Good lord. Westbrook was sitting at 47 points before nailing the game winning three on the final play. It’s an emphatic statement for his MVP campaign, though he certainly didn’t need that moment to have earned frontrunner status. He shot 17-of-32 and nailed five triples while picking up a steal, just in case all the other numbers weren’t enough for you. Westbrook is an abject joy to watch and one of the most electrifying players that you’ll ever, ever see. This is an insane season, the likes of which we may never see again.
