Thaddeus Young scored 20 points on 10-of-13 shooting with 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in the Nets’ 110-105 win over the Rockets on Tuesday.
After underachieving the last year or more, Thad has really taken off this season. Part of his success has been staying away from the 3-point line, taking a third less attempts and seeing his field goal percentage jump up 2.5 percent while his attempts have also gone up considerably. It’s a lesson that 3-point shooting isn’t always a great thing for bigs. We’re actually fine with calling him a neutral asset and he most certainly doesn’t have anybody challenging him for playing time.
