Joel Embiid poured in 46 points to go with 15 boards, seven assists, and seven blocks in Wednesday’s match against the Lakers.
He shot 14-for-20 from the field, added two 3-pointers and went 16-for-19 at the line and only committed two turnovers. This might be one of the best games of the season and the scary part is that Embiid is capable of doing this again. His blocks have been down from last season but that number is sure to climb back to above 2.0 by the season’s end. The Lakers had Julius Randle on him for most of the fourth quarter and there was no way that Embiid would be stopped by him. Even though he’s had a slower than usual start he’s still sitting right outside the top-30 in value which is his floor so long as he stays healthy. Embiid is a surefire top-20 guy on a per game basis, so keep your fingers crossed that he stays healthy.
