David Lee got his championship ring in a ceremony at Oracle on Friday, but his 12 points, nine rebounds, six assists and one steal weren’t enough as the Mavs lost to the Warriors.
The Mavs sat three key players including Dirk and the fact this game was close was a win for all Mavs involved. More importantly, they did get to rest their guys because they need all the wins they can get and they weren’t getting this one tonight. Wesley Matthews was both productive and efficient with 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting with six threes, and recommended plays J.J. Barea (21 points, three rebounds, six assists, five treys) and Raymond Felton (17 points, five rebounds, five assists, one block, one three) both paid off handsomely.
Lee and Matthews had some drop questions lingering and both answered them tonight, and Felton and Barea return to being deep league options when the cavalry returns.
