D’Angelo Russell scored 22 points on 8-of-20 shooting (including three treys) with four rebounds, five assists, one steal and six turnovers, but hit what appeared to be the game-winning shot only to give up a layup on the other end, and then hit the would-be game-winner with 1.6 seconds left against the Sixers.
“I played like shit,” said Russell in his nationally televised postgame interview, which is just the most recent sign of immaturity from the second-year player even though swearing isn’t the worst thing in the world. He just needs to not do anything dumb until he has put some distance between he and the whole ‘record your teammate and put it on the Internet’ thing. But like his former big brother in Nick Young, there doesn’t appear to be a filter capable of keeping Russell in his lane, and that’s great news for all of us as we get to grab some popcorn and watch it all go down.
