Mario Hezonja didn’t break down any doors in his 37-minute start on Friday against the Heat, scoring eight points on 4-of-11 shooting with three rebounds, one assist and two steals.
The Heat aren’t a great defense to measure with because they are exactly that — great. Evan Fournier was the primary scorer with 20 points on 6-of-17 shooting, seven boards, two assists, one three and 7-of-8 makes from the foul line, and Elfrid Payton had a popcorn line of 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, seven rebounds, seven assists and zero money counting stats. Fournier is the only one with any real value, but Payton might be trying for a late-season push here. He’ll need this type of production in the popcorn categories to sustain his deficiencies elsewhere.
