  • Damyean Dotson
    SG, New York Knicks

Damyean Dotson (right shoulder surgery), Kadeem Allen (foot) and Allonzo Trier (neck) are all available for Wednesday's preseason game against the Hawks.

It is good to see guys getting healthy in time for the start of the regular season. Although all three of these players had roles for the Knicks at times last season, it is very difficult to project any of them as having value outside of very deep leagues this upcoming season.

Allonzo Trier (strained neck) is probable to face the Hawks on Wednesday after returning to practice on Tuesday.

Trier is going to be relied on as a scorer off the bench but will struggle to find enough consistent minutes to be worthy of a look outside of the deepest of leagues.

Allonzo Trier (strained neck) was a limited participant in Monday's practice.

Trier should be alright for opening night but we'll keep you posted as more updates come in. He'll give the Knicks some scoring punch off the bench, though he may struggle to hold consistent fantasy value given New York's wacky rotation. Top-250 value with a little bit of upside feels right.

Allonzo Trier dropped 21 points, five rebounds, four assists and three three-pointers in Friday night's game against the Pelicans.

Summer League is the perfect opportunity for Trier to flex his skills and he took advantage on Friday night. An earthquake in the area kept the game from finishing, but Trier will look to keep building on this performance next time out.

The Knicks exercised Allonzo Trier's 3.5 million dollar team option on Friday.

Trier will return to the Knicks in 2019-20 after he impressed the Knicks brass with high energy and hustle. He won't be a big fantasy asset for any Knicks team but there's an opportunity to fall into some popcorn streaming phases.

Allonzo Trier (left calf strain) will miss Wednesday’s season finale against the Pistons.

Trier’s season ended with 11 consecutive absences, but he managed to climb from UDFA to training camp standout to making the opening night roster and averaging 22.2 minutes a night in 64 games. He was a coaching staff favorite because of his hustle and was able to post 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.2 blocks and 0.8 3-pointers per game, good enough for top-250/300 per-game value in 8/9-cat formats. Trier also missed seven games with a left hamstring strain but still moved up to the top-230/265 in terms of total value. He might never be a star, or even a starter, but the Knicks did uncover a useful young player that’s worth moving forward with.

David Fizdale thinks Allonzo Trier (strained left calf) will miss the rest of the season after Trier's calf injury flared up again yesterday.

Allonzo Trier (left calf strain) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Magic.

Trier was upgraded to questionable yesterday but won't return tonight. Damyean Dotson will continue to log heavy minutes at shooting guard and is worth a look if you need scoring. It's now been multiple weeks on the shelf for Trier, who does not need to be held in any fantasy leagues.

The Knicks are upgrading Allonzo Trier (left calf strain) to questionable to play the Magic on Wednesday.

This is a good start for Trier to get back on the court, but if he is feeling even slightly off, the Knicks aren't going to push him. Damyean Dotson is looking like a busy man once again.

That leaves Damyean Dotson and Mario Hezonja as the principle guys to man the wing for the Knicks.
