Amile Jefferson

  • Amile Jefferson
    PF, Orlando Magic

Amile Jefferson double-doubled with 19 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday's 85-73 win over the Bulls.

Jefferson had another great game for the Magic during Summer League play but was let go following the game. His chances of making the team were minimal as Orlando has a glut of bodies clogging the frontcourt. He impressed with a great showing this summer and may draw interest from teams with thin depth charts. Nevertheless, it is fair to forecast that he will not be a fantasy commodity this season.

    PF, Orlando Magic

The Magic have withdrawn their qualifying offer to Amile Jefferson, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Jefferson was on a two-way deal for the Magic last season and only appeared in 12 games for them, averaging 5.7 minutes. Jefferson, a 6'9" power forward, does not have a 3-point shot but displayed great ability in other categories, averaging 18.1 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks with strong percentages in the G-League last season and has played well in Summer League so far so he should be able to draw some interest around the league.

Amile Jefferson stayed productive in Wednesday night's loss to Brooklyn, putting up 18 points, eight rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes.

Jefferson has been very solid in Orlando's summer league games thus far, but appears to be headed to a very limited role, if one at all, in Orlando with all of the big men Orlando signed and re-signed this offseason.

Amile Jefferson led the Magic with 24 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and two rebounds on 11-of-17 shooting in just 26 minutes of action in Tuesday's 96-92 loss against the Heat.

Jefferson was a beast in this one as he almost helped the Magic knock off the Heat for their first Summer League loss. Oddly enough, Jefferson had a plus/minus of -9 as the only Magic starter with a negative ratio. Jefferson's potential path to minutes took a big hit when the Magic resigned Nikola Vucevic last week.

  • Khem Birch
    C, Orlando Magic

The Magic have extended qualifying offers to C Khem Birch and F Amile Jefferson, rendering both restricted free agents ahead of free agency which is set to begin on June 30th.

Birch, who averaged 4.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in just 12.9 minutes per game this past season, is seemingly a priority for the Magic to bring back, and now they'll get the opportunity to match any contracts he may fetch from other teams. Jefferson was in the G-League for the majority of the season, where he was very productive. Both may take on larger roles, should they stay with the Magic, as star C Nikola Vucevic is an unrestricted free agent.

  • Amile Jefferson
    F, Orlando Magic

Amile Jefferson logged his 12th game of the season in Wednesday's finale, posting six points, seven rebounds and a steal in 25 minutes.

Jefferson appeared in 12 games for the Magic and spent most of the year with Lakeland in the G-League, where he averaged 18.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks on .583 from the field. A top-450 fantasy player in his limited run, we’d like to see more defensive production out of Jefferson to seriously consider him a fantasy prospect.

  • Amile Jefferson
    F, Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic have signed forward Amile Jefferson to a two-way deal per Shams Charania.

The former Dukie spent all last season with the Wolves on a two-way contract but didn’t make it into an NBA game and was solely active in the G-League where he led the league in rebounds per game. Jefferson also led the Summer League in rebounds at 12.6 per game in 28.6 minutes but there’s a ton of frontcourt depth in Orlando so Jefferson will have a hard time cracking the rotation.

  • Amile Jefferson
    F, Minnesota Timberwolves

Amile Jefferson reeled in 15 rebounds against the Pistons on Wednesday, adding six points and two assists on 3-of-8 shooting overall.

Jefferson could have a shot at minutes next season but it's a longshot he does anything of value. Certainly keep an eye on him throughout the year, but don't hold out on him doing much early on in the season.

  • Amile Jefferson
    F, Minnesota Timberwolves

Amile Jefferson finished with five points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and four blocks in 26 minutes against the Nets on Monday.

Jefferson, however, shot just 2-of-7 from the field. His shooting wasn't great but he had a solid game overall for the Wolves. It's unlikely he's in the rotation next season, especially early on, but he might be someone to keep an eye on.

  • Anthony Brown
    SG, Minnesota Timberwolves

The Wolves have recalled Anthony Brown and Amile Jefferson in the wake of all their injuries.

While the Wolves need bodies given their injury report, neither Brown nor Jefferson are likely to see any action. It’d take a few more injuries to put either on the map.
