Ante Zizic is officially a member of Maccabi Tel Aviv as announced by the Israelian powerhouse on Tuesday.

Zizic returns in Europe after three seasons in the NBA with the Cavs where he failed to make a big difference. His lack of speed and versatility was evident and he looks to be a better fit playing in Europe in an offense will slower pace and more traditional bigs.

Ante Zizic will leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign a deal with Real Madrid, reports Johnny Askounis of Euro Hoops.

Zizic will apparently join Real Madrid as preparations for the 2020-21 season get underway. He has had a checkered career thus far in the NBA, often viewed as a player that has been somewhat underutilized. Still only 23 years of age, there is certainly scope for the young center to work his way back into the NBA and it will certainly be interesting to see how has career tracks from this point forward.

Ante Zizic finishes the season outside the top-350 in 8/9-cat formats with averages of 4.4 PPG, 3.0 RPG and 0.2 BPG in just 10.0 MPG across 22 games.

Sadly, there weren't many minutes left for Zizic to snack on in 2019-20, with Tristan Thompson playing rejuvenated basketball and Kevin Love being nominally healthy. Also, Larry Nance Jr. was being groomed as a developmental project by the team. All of this resulted in Zizic becoming the odd man out of the equation. He's drawn interest from Turkish Airlines Euroleague ten Maccabi Tel Aviv, so an off-season departure is not completely out of the question.

If Ante Zizic chooses to leave the NBA when he hits free agency this offseason, he could draw interest from Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Zizic had a lot of success in 2016-17 when he was last in the Euro League with Darussafaka, averaging 9 points and 6.7 rebounds in under 21 minutes per game. In comparison, he's been an afterthought for the Cavs this season, only averaging 10 minutes per game. Moreover, the Cavs declined to pick up his player option for next season, and they already have plenty of options for the frontcourt between Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr., and possibly DeAndre Drummond (player option). Maccabi will have to see how much salary flexibility they have this offseason as ticket sales are likely to take a hit in Israel next year.

Ante Zizic returned from a 16-game absence on Saturday night, logging eight minutes and seven points against the Heat.

Zizic missed 15 games with a vestibular condition (vertigo) and was actually cleared to play on Friday but didn't check into the game. He's not going to sniff the rotation unless the Cavs shut down some of their other frontcourt players so there's no need to pay much attention here.

Ante Zizic (illness) is probable to play on Friday.

Zizic was sidelined by a case of vertigo that the Cavs termed a vestibular condition, and even if he's unlikely to see many minutes it's good to know that he's approaching a clean bill of health. The trade deadline couldn't have gone worse for Zizic's prospects, so he's waiver wire material.

The Cavs announced that Ante Zizic will be out indefinitely with a vestibular condition.

Zizic had complained of vertigo after being elbowed in the head and one wonders whether this diagnosis could end his season. He hasn't held much fantasy value.

Ante Zizic (vertigo) will miss Friday's contest against the Grizzlies.

Zizic isn't really on the fantasy radar for the time being anyway. That may change if the Cavaliers move on from Tristan Thompson and/or Kevin Love.

Ante Zizic is expected to miss some time after suffering a bout of vertigo, according to Sam Amico of Sports Illustrated.

Zizic just recently worked his way into the rotation, but he took an accidental elbow to the head from Miles Plumlee on Saturday. He has appeared in just 16 of the Cavs' first 40 game and is averaging 4.3 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Ante Zizic (illness) will miss Monday's game against the Lakers.

Zizic has played sparingly. He's only with a shot if you need a high-reward rebounder and the Cavs are down multiple centers.

Ante Zizic took advantage of some extra minutes once again with five points, nine rebounds, a steal and a block in 16 minutes on Tuesday.

With Larry Nance Jr. out for at least a few games and John Henson sitting tonight, Zizic was able to get almost enough minutes to be standard-league relevant. He reminded us of his double-double capabilities in the previous game while more Cavs big men were missing. He's just a name to remember in case Kevin Love and more are shipped out of town. Tristan Thompson put up eight points, 15 boards, four assists and two blocks in this game. He's dropped off significantly, but he can be a serviceable last center on your team.

  • Tristan Thompson
    C, Cleveland Cavaliers

Tristan Thompson (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game.

Thompson already missed Sunday's contest. He is delivering 12.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as well as 0.9 blocks. Ante Zizic had a terrific game on Sunday, while Cedi Osman will also play a lot if Thompson cannot go.

Ante Zizic put up 15 points and 12 boards on 6-of-7 shooting in a loss to the Wolves on Sunday.

Zizic saw an expanded role with Tristan Thompson out and capitalized. His role will likely be limited when the team is fully healthy, but he can be used as a DFS option on nights where he is due for big minutes like this one.

  • Kevin Love
    PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Love (illness) will sit out Friday's game vs. the Magic.

With Kevin Love out Tristan Thompson would be line for a big night, but he is also questionable for this one. That could mean Larry Nance or Ante Zizic emerge with larger roles tonight.

Tristan Thompson (rest) is being listed as out for Wednesday's matchup with the Heat.

With Thimpson out and Larry Nance Jr. (thumb) questionable, Ante Zizic may find himself in the starting unit. The Cavs can also go small and keep Kevin Porter Jr., who is coming off his best game of the season, in the starting lineup.
