Anthony Tolliver

Fantasy News

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver had a quiet season finale on Wednesday, scoring three points on 1-of-5 shooting in 21 minutes of action.

Tolliver's make came from behind the arc, as you'd imagine. The veteran stretch four was bounced from the rotation early in the year and then came back late as Minnesota's playoff hopes faded, though he couldn't replicate his standard-league run during last year's second half with Detroit. He was a top-350 per-game player and a top-300 guy in terms of total value in his 64 games, though there wasn't much appeal besides 1.3 triples per game out of a frontcourt spot.

  • Taj Gibson - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Taj Gibson (left calf strain) will not play on Friday vs. the Heat.

Gibson hasn’t been officially ruled out for the season but it’s looking like he’s done for the year. Anthony Tolliver will get some extra run but isn’t an ideal option for fantasy.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver delivered 14 points, nine rebounds and three treys in 30 minutes during Friday night's dramatic victory over the Warriors.

With Taj Gibson out due to a calf strain, Tolliver saw an uptick in his minutes that almost led to a double-double. Karl-Anthony Towns also experienced some foul trouble so the extra minutes were more a function of circumstance than a sign of things to come. Tolliver can be left alone in most formats.

  • Taj Gibson - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Taj Gibson (left calf strain) will not play on Friday vs. the Warriors.

This will be the fourth straight game missed for Gibson. Dario Saric, Keita Bates-Diop and Anthony Tolliver will all see an increased workload.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver came off the bench for six points, two rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes on Saturday night.

Tolliver should be a solid 3-point specialist while Taj Gibson (calf) is sidelined but we wouldn't expect the blocks to keep up. Gorgui Dieng would make for a better add if he wasn't boxed into strictly center minutes, but alas he only managed three points, two rebounds and a block in 15 minutes.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver played 25 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Bucks, putting up 17 points on 6-of-8 from the field along with five 3-pointers and a block of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He blocked Giannis at the rim — not on Twitter or anything of the sort. Tolliver has gotten extra run with Karl-Anthony Towns out over the past two games, and as long as that holds he'll be worth using as a 3-point specialist who can help out a little more than most. He ended last season with a standard-league finish, and while we're not projecting a repeat it's good to know that we're not in totally uncharted territory if this keeps up.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver got in on the fun in Friday's win, coming off the bench for 30 minutes and delivering 11 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

Tolliver outplayed both Taj Gibson and Dario Saric, though they were both still productive in their own right — Gibson had 14 points and 10 boards on 7-of-10 shooting in 22 minutes while Saric had 10 points, four rebounds, two steals and a three in 23 minutes. It's already a tough situation to read night-to-night but if Tolliver is going to see a playing time spike in the wake of Robert Covington's injury then it could get very weird. All three are now on the board in deeper leagues, with Gibson still the likeliest to hold top-150 value. Let's see where this goes with RoCo looking at an extended absence.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver played four more minutes than Dario Saric on Wednesday (26 to 22) and put up nine points on three 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.

He is only a 3-point specialist in deep leagues, so you can leave him on the wire unless you are desperate in that category. Saric still offers more fantasy appeal than Tolliver even though his value is outside the top-150 and is steadily declining. Neither guy is worth an add.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver got back into the rotation on Saturday but registered only one assist and one steal in 13 minutes of action.

Tolliver operated as the backup power forward with Taj Gibson (personal) out of action, but he'll go back to the end of the bench in short order. There's no fantasy appeal here.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver didn't leave the bench in Wednesday's game.

He'll still have a role as a situational 3-point threat but the Wolves are now pretty full up front. Those of you who were counting on Tolliver in deep leagues might want to start looking for alternatives.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver scored 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting (all threes) with six rebounds, one steal and one block in 28 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's loss to the Raptors.

Tolliver won't get this much run when the team is at full strength and he's not a consistent producer, anyway. But if you need some stretch big stats he's worth a look in deeper formats when players are out.

  • Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Andrew Wiggins scored 22 points (1-for-5 from distance) and added three rebounds, two assists and three steals in Friday’s defeat of the Cavs.

Wiggins has scored at least 20 points in each of his two first games and it looks like he might not need to wait on Jimmy Butler’s exit to increase his stats. He still shot just 8-for-21 from the field but that’s about as much as owners who drafted him late can ask for. Taj Gibson chipped in 13 points and eight boards in 28 minutes and can maintain low-end value if he can hold off Anthony Tolliver (11 points, two 3s in 20 minutes).

  • Gorgui Dieng - C - Minnesota Timberwolves

Gorgui Dieng turned in a nice effort in Saturday's road win, picking up six points, eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks in 19 minutes of action.

Dieng was the second big off the bench behind Anthony Tolliver (15 points on 5-of-14, five 3-pointers) tonight but still put up the type of line that reminds fantasy owners how potent he could be under the right coaching staff. There's not a lot of action to take as long as he's with the Wolves but his rumored inclusion in any Jimmy Butler trade could put him on the fantasy map in an instant.

  • Anthony Tolliver - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Tolliver, who played for the Wolves from 2010 until 2012, is back with the team and is expected to improve the club's 3-point shooting.

This time around, Tolliver figures to be a part of an improved second unit for a team determined to take another step despite the expected departure of Jimmy Butler. 3-point shooting is something Wolves’ coach Tom Thibodeau has said his team needs to improve and the 6’8” forward should be someone to target in deeper leagues as a 3-point specialist.
