Bismack Biyombo

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

Bismack Biyombo dropped a great line of 11 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and five blocks in a win against the Suns on Saturday.

He shot 5-of-7 from the field and was able to stay on the floor after Willy Hernangomez outplayed him in their last game. It was great to see the block numbers tonight and owners were hoping to see that kind of production every time he steps on the floor. You can stream him for rebounds and blocks but his inconsistency might make you consider other options instead.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

Bismack Biyombo scored four points on 2-of-3 shooting with 10 rebounds and three blocks over 25 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Kings.

Biyombo has been on the radar toward the bottom of the top-200 since taking the starting job, and has a nice advantage in 9-cat leagues for what it's worth. He's not going to be good but he can help you with some boards and blocks until Cody Zeller is back.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

Both Bismack Biyombo and Willy Hernangomez posted pedestrian outings on Friday in a blowout loss to the Blazers with neither big man standing out for the Hornets.

Biyombo started, logged 22 minutes and had just six points, eight boards, two assists and zero blocks to his name. Willy was almost equally disappointing with his seven points, eight rebounds and one assist in 13 minutes. Neither guy has shown enough of a spark to be worth owning in standard leagues and both big men are marginal holds in 18-team leagues or shallower.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

Bismack Biyombo drew the start for the Hornets on Saturday and responded well, dropping his first double-double of the season and a season-high in points with 16 on 7-of-10 shooting while adding 12 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 30 minutes

We knew that the Hornets were going to mix things post-Cody-Zeller injury, but this was a bit of a surprise. Biyombo, who is normally just a shot-blocking specialist, can be added in deeper leagues for the off-chance that this performance has earned him more rotation minutes. Willy Hernangomez played 16 minutes off the bench and delivered 10 points, five rebounds and one assist.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

The Hornets will change their starting lineup on Saturday, replacing Willy Hernangomez with Bismack Biyombo.

There have been concerns about Hernangomez's defensive play, and it looks like James Borrego is going to use Biyombo to try and slow down Nikola Jokic somewhat — if nothing else his energy on the glass will change the dynamic a bit. Biz is a blocks and boards type who will produce enough of those stats to attract deep-league attention, but Hernangomez is the one worth owning in all formats. Keep an eye on the playing time today, as he should still be able to help you out in 20-24 mpg off the bench.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

Bismack Biyombo played seven minutes in Monday's win over the Magic, scoring two points with two rebounds and no other stats.

Biyombo might get more minutes in the next month or so with Cody Zeller suffering a broken hand. There's no reason to pick him up, but if you're in a very deep league and need a center you might keep an eye on things.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Charlotte Hornets

Bismack Biyombo played just four minutes on Wednesday night but still played ahead of Willy Hernangomez, who only saw two minutes of garbage time.

It's surprising since Hernangomez started with Cody Zeller out, but Biyombo might've been a matchup play against a scorching Karl-Anthony Towns. Willy finished with 2 & 2 while Biz registered one point and one dime. There's nothing to see here.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Orlando Magic

Bismack Biyombo played 12 minutes off the bench, scoring six points and picking up two defensive counters.

The Biyombo experiment hasn't panned out in Orlando and he saw his minutes fade away in favor of Khem Birch down the stretch. He finished as a deep league blocks specialist averaging 1.2 blocks per game. It's very tough to get excited about Biyombo as a late value because it took him a Nikola Vucevic injury to be relevant. That's not out of question but he doesn't even have a stranglehold on the backup center role right now.

  • Bismack Biyombo - C - Orlando Magic

Bismack Biyombo got loose for 14 points in Monday's loss, hitting 6-of-7 from the field while picking up six rebounds and a block in only 17 minutes of action.

Biyombo and Khem Birch (10 points, nine rebounds, two steals in 16 minutes) have been splitting the backup big man minutes lately and both were able to emerge with decent lines tonight. That typically hasn't happened unless the Magic are resting someone else, so we wouldn't expect this performance to repeat itself in the finale unless Nik Vucevic were to sit. Birch has been getting more consistent playing time and makes for the better play in general as the Magic have prioritized youth, but Biz can still get it done every once in a while.

  • Nikola Vucevic - PF/C - Orlando Magic

Nikola Vucevic (lower back tightness) will not play on Friday against the Hornets.

Well, Vooch is out again so look for Bismack Biyombo to get another start. He’s a decent DFS play as the Magic will need someone to slow down Dwight Howard.
