Brandan Wright

Fantasy News

  • Brandan Wright
    PF/C, Houston Rockets

The Rockets will release Brandan Wright, who underwent a procedure on his knee and will be unable to return in time to help the team.

Wright is expected to make a full recovery and will rehab with the Rockets, so they’re not casting him aside after making an effort to court him on the buyout market. Le’Bryan Nash will take his place on the roster. Nash spent a season in Japan after going undrafted out of Oklahoma State and actually signed with the Rockets back in October of 2016 before being waived shortly thereafter. He’s unlikely to play much but he could make his NBA debut in this stint.

Brandan Wright (knee) is still around 2-to-3 weeks away from playing according to coach Mike D’Antoni.

Wright’s only played in one game for the Rockets since joining them post-trade deadline. The extended absence means he can be left on the wire.

  • Ryan Anderson
    PF, Houston Rockets

Ryan Anderson will miss his fifth straight game on Wednesday night.

Anderson was doubtful coming into this one but will test his hip in warmups tonight to see if he can return on Friday. That was always a more realistic return date for him so we’ll see what he’s got going on in the next two days. P.J. Tucker will continue to start in his absence. Brandan Wright is also out again because of a knee injury and won’t play in the next two as he’s not with the team on the road trip. The only fantasy option here is Anderson, and he’s only worth owning if you need threes.

  • Brandan Wright
    PF/C, Houston Rockets

Brandan Wright has been ruled out of Tuesday’s game against the Thunder.

Wright is Houston’s third or fourth option in the frontcourt rotation, and when you couple that with his persistent injury problems it’s easy to see why he’s not a fantasy option.

  • Ryan Anderson
    PF, Houston Rockets

Ryan Anderson (sore left hip) has been ruled out of Saturday’s game with the Celtics.

It’s not a great sign that Anderson has been ruled out a full day in advance, and he’s missed the last three contests. He’s a decent 3-point specialist but is otherwise a low-end value on his best days, so he does’t need to be held in standard formats. Brandan Wright has also been ruled out, and this will also mark his third straight absence.

  • Ryan Anderson
    PF, Houston Rockets

Ryan Anderson (sore right hip flexor) has been ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Clippers.

This is Anderson’s second straight game sitting out with the hip flexor. He is a borderline hold in standard leagues, as he is best suited for teams needing threes from their center position. Brandan Wright (sore right knee) has also been ruled out for Wednesday’s game. He is not worth consideration in deep leagues.

  • Clint Capela
    C, Houston Rockets

Clint Capela is being listed as questionable for Monday’s game with an illness.

The Rockets could be shorthanded in the frontcourt tonight with Brandan Wright already ruled out because of right knee soreness. It could be a big day for the Jazz and their talented front line if Capela does sit, as only Nene and Tarik Black could be called on to play a more traditional center role. Houston would probably have to go small if that were the case, but either way Capela is the only one of the bunch with substantial fantasy value.
