Cheick Diallo

  • Deandre Ayton
    C, Phoenix Suns

Deandre Ayton (left ankle soreness) practiced on Wednesday and Coach Monty Williams says that he's hopeful Ayton will be able to play on Friday.

Ayton missed the past two games with an injury but looks ready to return the next game. Ayton is a top-15/30 player in 9/8 cat leagues on the season and should remain in that range the rest of the way. This kills the small amount of value that Cheick Diallo had and he can be left on waiver wires outside of 20-team leagues.

  • Deandre Ayton

James Jones said that he expects Deandre Ayton (left ankle soreness) to be available to play against the Raptors on Friday.

Ayton missed a few games to close out the first half, but it looks like the second-year big man will be good to go when the Suns return to action. Ayton was putting up top-12/16 per-game value in 9/8 cat leagues in the 13 games before going down, and owners have to be ecstatic to get him back in their lineups. Cheick Diallo will revert to a deep reserve role.

  • Cheick Diallo
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Cheick Diallo started again for Deandre Ayton (ankle soreness) on Wednesday and flirted with a double-double, recording 10 points (5-of-6 FGs), eight rebounds and two steals.

Ayton's injury doesn't figure to keep him out for long, so there's no need to go out and rush to add Diallo. No. Keep him on the wire and look for more reliable production.

  • Deandre Ayton
    C, Phoenix Suns

Deandre Ayton (left ankle soreness) is listed as out for Wednesday's game vs. the Warriors.

Ayton missed Monday's game with the same injury and the Suns will use this as an opportunity to give Ayton extended rest heading into the All-Star break. Ayton has been a top-20 player per game this season and should continue that pace moving forward. Cheick Diallo will start in place for Ayton on Wednesday and Jonah Bolden may make his debut for the Suns after signing a 10-day contract on Wednesday.

Deandre Ayton (left ankle soreness) is being listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Warriors.

The Suns will look to take advantage of the All-Star break and give Ayton extended rest, with an eye towards returning to action against the Raptors on February 21st. Cheick Diallo will likely get another start in Ayton's absence.

  • Cheick Diallo
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Checik Diallo started on Monday and scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting while adding four rebounds, three assists and a block.

Diallo drew the start with Deandre Ayton (left ankle) shelved and has shown he can put up low-end value when given the time. It doesn't look like Ayton will be out long though, so you can ignore him.

  • Cameron Johnson
    SF, Phoenix Suns

Cameron Johnson will make his first start on Monday when the Suns take on the Lakers.

Johnson will start in place of Kelly Oubre, who was not on the injury report and will come off the bench. Cheick Diallo will need all the help he can get in the frontcourt, so we'll see if this has anything to do with the Suns' severe lack of big-man depth tonight.

  • Deandre Ayton
    C, Phoenix Suns

Deandre Ayton (left ankle soreness) is now listed as out for Monday's game against the Lakers.

In Ayton's absence look for some small ball lineups and some Cheick Diallo in this game against the Lakers' impressive big men. The Suns are without most of their other fours and fives right now as well.

  • Deandre Ayton
    C, Phoenix Suns

Deandre Ayton logged 24 minutes in Friday's win, adding 12 points (5-for-8 shooting), six rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Ayton did whatever he wanted on Friday, and would've had a much bigger night if he didn't only [lay 24 minutes. Fellow big man Cheick Diallo also had a decent game with 14 points (5-for-5 shooting), eight rebounds and three blocks.

  • Frank Kaminsky
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Frank Kaminsky (right patella stress fracture) is out indefinitely and will be reevaluated in four weeks.

Kaminsky has been on the injury report for a couple weeks with knee soreness and has missed the last three games so it's very likely this stems from that. Although he has played 22.4 minutes per game on the season, his playing was expected to drastically decrease anyway with Deandre Ayton back. There should be no fantasy implications here as Cheick Diallo will likely replace him as the third string center in the meantime with Aron Baynes maybe getting a slight additional boost as well.

  • Frank Kaminsky
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Frank Kaminsky (right knee soreness) is questionable to play against the Rockets on Saturday.

Kaminsky played only 11 minutes in Friday's game after putting together four straight quality lines prior to that. With Deandre Ayton ruled out and Dario Saric questionable, Kaminsky has a chance for good minutes if he does play. Otherwise, we may see Cheick Diallo getting the backup center minutes behind Aron Baynes with Cameron Johnson getting some extra minutes at the four.

  • Frank Kaminsky
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Frank Kaminsky followed his season-high 23 points with a 20-point, six rebound performance on Thursday night.

Kaminsky took advantage of the absence of Aron Baynes yet again. This should continue to be the case for him with Baynes absent. Unfortunately, Cheick Diallo only played 11 minutes to accrue his eight points and four rebounds despite the overtime, so it doesn't look like Diallo will have a bankable role.

  • Aron Baynes
    C, Phoenix Suns

Aron Baynes has been downgraded to out for Thursday's tilt vs. the Pelicans.

Including Thursday's game, Baynes has only played in one game over the last nine. Frank Kaminsky and Cheick Diallo will continue to get more opportunity for as long as Baynes remains out.

  • Cheick Diallo
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Cheick Diallo (illness) will be available for Wednesday's game.

Aron Baynes is still out, which means that Diallo has a chance to put up some numbers. Despite playing very little for most of the season, he has scored in double figures during two of his last three games.

  • Cheick Diallo
    PF, Phoenix Suns

Cheick Diallo (illness) is being listed as probable to play against the Magic on Wednesday.

Aron Baynes is sitting this one out, so Diallo will see added opportunities in this one. Diallo makes for an intriguing cheap DFS punt play in this one with his per-minute numbers and Frank Kaminsky's pedestrian play of late.
