According to Shams Charania, the Magic plan to redshirt rookie Chuma Okeke, who is recovering from a torn left ACL.
Earlier in the summer Magic POBO Jeff Weltman said that he believed Okeke could return this season, but there's no rush for him to get back on the court. The 16th overall pick will be able to focus on rehab this season, and he's off the board in all redraft formats.

Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said that he believes Chuma Okeke, who is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the NCAA tournament, will be able to play this season.
The Magic will obviously take it slow with their first-round pick, but it is encouraging that they believe he'll be able to take the court rather than redshirt his first season. Okeke put up 12.0 points, 6.8 boards, 1.9 dimes, 1.8 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.4 triples per game for Auburn before the injury and will give the Magic another versatile, athletic forward to add to their group once he's fully healthy.

The Orlando Magic selected Auburn Forward Chuma Okeke with the 16th pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday.
Okeke shot over 38% from distance last season and showed some ability on the defensive end for a talented Auburn team. The Magic hope he can become an offensive weapon for them as they are in need of some scoring threats, though Okeke has not shown the consistent ability to create shots for himself. They will likely have to wait a bit, however, as Okeke suffered a torn ACL in this year’s NCAA tournament and could be looking at a redshirt season if the Magic exercise extreme caution.
