  • Isaac Bonga
    PG, Washington Wizards

Isaac Bonga (left knee) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's preseason matchup vs. the Guangzhou Long-Lions while C.J. Miles (left foot rehab), Troy Brown (left calf strain), Isaiah Thomas (left thumb rehab), John Wall (left Achilles rehab) and Ian Mahinmi (right Achilles strain) all remain out.

Bonga may carve out a role for the Wizards if he is able to get healthy. At this time, he needs to show something to enter the fantasy landscape.

  • Admiral Schofield
    PG, Washington Wizards

Admiral Schofield (right hamstring) hobbled out of practice grabbing his hamstring on Thursday.

Schofield's status will be updated soon, and we can only hope it is something minor. The Wizards are already without C.J Miles and Troy Brown Jr. and can't afford another loss on the wings. Schofield has the chance to start when the season opens.

  • Troy Brown Jr.
    SF, Washington Wizards

Troy Brown Jr. is expected to miss about four weeks after he suffered a left calf strain during a workout on Tuesday.

Brown is looking at missing all of training camp and the preseason, and potentially opening night. Davis Bertans and Admiral Schofield stand to benefit with the extra playing time. With C.J. Miles recovering from surgery on a stress fracture, one of them may open the season in a starting role.

Newly acquired Wizards guard C.J. Miles is set to undergo surgery on his left foot, and an update will be provided in six weeks.

The oft-injured 14-year NBA vet is little more than a deep reserve on the Wizards as they look towards a rebuild a youth movement. While Miles had some bright moments after he got playing time with the Grizzlies piling up the injuries last year, he'll need a similar scenario again this year to find value.

The Grizzlies have traded C.J. Miles to the Wizards for Dwight Howard, whom they intend to waive immediately, according to Adrian Wojnarowksi

Miles was just a facilitating chip for teams to free up cap room. He's got a year left on his deal, so he could still be moved. Should he stay, Miles is nothing more than a deep-league 3-point specialist, given the Wizards' pivot towards youth and a rebuild.

  • Dwight Howard
    C, Memphis Grizzlies

Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that Dwight Howard has been traded to the Grizzlies for C.J. Miles.

Woj also adds that the Grizzlies plan to either trade or waive Howard. That's good news for fans of Jonas Valanciunas and Jaren Jackson Jr. as the oft-injured big man won't be there to clog up the frontcourt rotation. The Wizards are clearly moving on and are all-in with Thomas Bryant as their center of the future.

C.J. Miles relayed that he is likely to pick up his $8.7 million player option for next season.

This doesn't come as a surprise as the 14 year NBA vet is unlikely to beat this mark on the open market coming off a season-ending stress reaction to his left foot. Miles had his moments after being traded to the Grizzlies decimated roster mid-season, but isn't a name to watch heading into the summer.

C.J. Miles played in 53 games during the 2018-19 season, averaging 16.2 mpg with 6.4 points, 1.3 treys, 0.5 steals and 0.3 blocks per contest.

Miles couldn't crack the top-300 and it'd take a pristine situation to put him back on the fantasy radar.

An MRI revealed a stress reaction to CJ Miles’ left foot, which will require approximately 3-6 weeks of off-loading to resolve, causing the veteran forward to miss the remainder of the season.

Miles appeared in 53 games for the Grizzlies and the Raptors in his 12th NBA season. He saw action in 13 games as a reserve for the Grizzlies and averaged 9.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 22.6 minutes. Chandler Parsons and Bruno Caboclo are the next men up but both are very inconsistent and hard to trust.

CJ Miles (left foot) is questionable to return in Saturday night's matchup against the Wizards.

Tough break for Miles who ended the night with just one rebound, one steal and no points to his name before heading to the bench. He was on fire last game so this mishap was a bummer for his fantasy owners who are expecting at least something close to that production or even half of it.

CJ Miles put up 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting with eight 3-pointers in a Grizzlies blowout loss to the Hawks on Wednesday.

Eight triples is the most for a Grizzlies player since Mike Miller hit eight in 2008. He did not add much else to the box score aside from three rebounds, but he was the main source of offense in this one. He remains a 3-point specialist in fantasy.

C.J. Miles (right knee soreness) will play on Sunday against the Magic.

Miles was probable for this game and now we have confirmation he will play. He's just a 3-point specialist in fantasy.

C.J. Miles (right knee soreness) is probable for Sunday's matchup with the Magic.

Miles has been a steady part of the Grizzlies rotation, so his absence would likely result in a few more minutes for guys like Chandler Parsons and Bruno Caboclo. Miles is only a 3-point specialist for fantasy, however.

C.J. Miles put up 12 points, two rebounds, one steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's win.

Miles has been a consistent rotation player for Memphis and is around the top-220 over the last couple of weeks. His 3-point shooting gives him specialist appeal in deeper formats and if he keeps it up with lines like these he'll inch into the top-200 before too long.

C.J. Miles (right hip soreness) returned from a one-game absence on Wednesday night but only posted two points, two rebounds and a steal in 14 minutes.

Miles had been up around 20 mpg before the injury so maybe the team was easing him in tonight. More curious is the fact that only one of his five shots came from behind the arc — that's not a winning formula for a player whose only fantasy value is as a 3-point specialist.
