The Wizards have waived C.J Miles (wrist) in order to make room for a standard contract for Aznjes Pasecniks and a two-way contact for Johnathan Williams.

Miles has been out indefinitely since undergoing wrist surgery on December 4th, but should he get himself back up to game-speed it's not impluasible that he could latch onto another team who is in desperate need of floor-spacing towards the end of the year. He's off the fantasy radar either way.

The Wizards have converted Anzejs Pasecniks to a standard NBA contract following the waiving of C.J Miles (wrist) according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.

The 7’1 Pasecniks has provided valuable rebounding for the flailing Wizards, and made more sense to keep on the roster than Miles, a low-end 3-point option who’s return date is still unclear. Pasecniks has averaged 8.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in his 13 with the team, but has done little else to warrant fantasy attention. This move will also allow the Wizards to free up a two-way roster spot, which they will use to re-sign Johnathan Williams according to Buckner.

The NBA has granted the Wizards a $4.37M injury exception for C.J. Miles on Tuesday, per Fred Katz of The Athletic.

With the exception, the Wizards have until March 10th to use the money to sign a player to a one-year contract or an expiring contract in the afforded salary range. The Wizards are currently down Mo Wagner, Thomas Bryant and Rui Hachimura in the frontcourt and can badly use some depth there.

C.J. Miles had surgery on his left wrist and there is no timetable for his return.

This news shouldn't torpedo anyone's fantasy team, but it's possible that Miles will miss the rest of the season. It is believed that he sustained the injury on November 26 against the Nuggets. Jordan McRae has been chipping in more points and assists lately.

Candace Buckner of the Washington Post is reporting that CJ Miles could require season-ending surgery on his left wrist.

Miles will see a specialist on Monday, which means he's out for Sunday. Averaging just 16.1 mpg so far this season, the veteran wing isn't much of a fantasy factor.

C.J. Miles (left wrist ligament injury) will not play against the Lakers on Friday.

Miles also missed Wednesday's game. Despite a strong first few games with the Wizards, Miles has predictably fallen towards the back of the rotation. There's no fantasy impact here.

C.J. Miles has been ruled out of Wednesday's game vs. the Suns due to a left wrist ligament injury.

Miles played on Tuesday night but this is the first that we are hearing of an injury that he may have suffered during the game. Jordan McRae had a great 4th quarter during Tuesday's game and could be given more playing time on Wednesday as a result. McRae could be an intriguing low-cost DFS play.

  • Troy Brown Jr.
    SF, Washington Wizards

Troy Brown Jr. was limited to seven points (3-of-9 shooting), two rebounds and one 3-pointer on Wednesday night.

Brown had a quiet night after recording a double-double in his last appearance. Part of this could be to due C.J. Miles commanding more minutes with his performance tonight. Miles scored 15 points along with two rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and three 3-pointers. Brown is currently a top-100 value and we'd expect him to settle in around the later rounds by season's end.

C.J. Miles scored 12 points in 19 minutes off the bench in his season debut on Monday, as the Wizards beat the Pistons.

Miles made all three of his freebies and was 3-for-8 from the field. The Wizards have plenty of minutes for a productive wing right now, so keep an eye on this potential 3-point-streamer's role over the next few games.

C.J. Miles, who is coming off a stress fracture in his left foot, will be available on Monday in a limited capacity.

The Wizards will cap his minutes at first, but Miles will get opportunities on a team dealing with several injuries. Take a wait and see approach to his early games, but Miles can supply threes if he gets enough action. Ish Smith, who was just bumped from the lineup by Isaiah Thomas, could lose minutes to Miles as well.

C.J. Miles (left foot stress fracture) is questionable for Monday's game.

Miles was able to go through practice on Sunday and he could very well make his debut this week. Look for him to be in the mix for minutes at small forward and shooting guard, where the Wizards don't have much in terms of depth.

C.J. Miles (left foot stress fracture) participated in practice on on Sunday.

Miles has been sidelined since July but he's inching closer to a return. The Wizards have exercised caution with him and his return might take away minutes from Isaac Bonga but he's not worth owning anywhere.

Scott Brooks said that C.J. Miles (left foot stress fracture) is unlikely to play on Saturday, but is getting close to returning.

Miles returned to practice on Monday and at this point the Wizards appear to be exercising the utmost caution with their veteran. Miles might take minutes from Isaac Bonga and the other wings when he gets healthy, but there's limited fantasy appeal.

CJ Miles will miss Wednesday's game against the Rockets as he continues to rehab from a stress fracture in his left foot.

Miles is getting closer to a return, but so is Troy Brown, who may take precedence in the rotation given the Wizards' player development focus this season. If given the minutes, Miles can be an intriguing three-point streamer, but he figures to lose minutes to younger players throughout the season.
