D.J. Augustin

  • D.J. Augustin
    PG, Orlando Magic

D.J. Augustin underwent an MRI on Thursday and will be reevaluated in three-to-four weeks.

Augustin will only return if he responds well to the treatment so the timetable is three or four weeks at best. Until then, Markelle Fultz is going to get every opportunity to show what he's got.

  • Michael Carter-Williams
    PG, Orlando Magic

Michael Carter-Williams has been ruled out of Thursday's matchup vs. the Clippers with a AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.

Markelle Fultz will be the primary ball-handler on Thursday again with MCW and D.J. Augustin ruled out with injuries. Depending on Evan Fournier's status, the Magic could have some interesting low-cost DFS options on Thursday's five-game slate.

D.J. Augustin will not play against the Clippers on Thursday as he continues to nurse a sore left knee.

With Augustin ruled out, look for Markelle Fultz to continue to get all the minutes he can handle a day after notching a triple-double in a victory over the Lakers. Augustin's next opportunity to return will come on Saturday against the Warriors.

  • Evan Fournier
    SF, Orlando Magic

Evan Fournier is listed as questionable for Wednesday due to a right quad contusion suffered on Monday.

Despite scoring 25 points, Fournier was apparently kicked during the Sacramento game. The Magic are already without D.J. Augustin and Michael Carter-Williams against the Lakers, so Aaron Gordon could see monster usage if Fournier sits.

D.J. Augustin (sore left knee) will not face the Lakers on Wednesday.

The Magic will lean heavily on Markelle Fultz in his absence. Augustin can provide assists and sporadic scoring, but his fantasy value is trending downward.

    PG, Orlando Magic

D.J. Augustin (sore left knee) is being listed as doubtful to play against the Lakers on Wednesday.

Augustin played through a questionable tag in Monday's game against the Kings, but it looks like he didn't fare as well as he hoped. If Augustin can't go, Markelle Fultz would see a bump in playing time while Evan Fournier and possibly Michael Carter-Williams (questionable) would be tasked with more ball-handling duties.

D.J. Augustin has been ruled out of Friday's tilt vs. the Suns with a sore left knee.

D.J. Augustin (left knee contusion) is doubtful to play against the Suns on Friday.

If Augustin misses Friday's game, Markelle Fultz will likely see his minutes increase while two-way player, Josh Magette, might also see some minutes.

  • D.J. Augustin
    PG, Orlando Magic

D.J. Augustin came off the bench on Monday and scored 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting to go with four rebounds, six assists and two triples.

Just the type of performance needed to boost his trade value as Augustin's name is floating around rumors with multiple teams. He's definitely worth owning and holding onto until he cools off as the Magic are playing him the most minutes off their bench.

  • Markelle Fultz
    PG, Orlando Magic

Markelle Fultz set a new career-high with six steals on Friday night, adding six points and three assists.

The steals were nice but obviously an outlier performance, and the rest of the line points to Fultz's fledgling fantasy contributions. He's been around the top-150 mark and occasionally floats to the right side of the cut line, but he's not someone you have to be burning a spot on in a cutthroat 12-team league. DJ Augustin continued his nice little run with nine points, seven assists and two steals and is a safer bet for those conditional guard stats night-to-night.

  • D.J. Augustin
    PG, Orlando Magic

D.J. Augustin started off 2020 with a bang, exploding for 25 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field and 9-of-10 from the line, adding three rebounds, nine assists, two 3s and two steals in Monday's 122-101 win over the Wizards.

Augustin is on a bit of a heater, pinging on standard-league radars once again thanks to a three-game stretch of solid performances. Markelle Fultz also played well with 16 points (6-of-12 shooting), four rebounds, eight dimes, one 3-pointer and two steals in just 22 minutes. Fultz remains the higher upside-player, but Augustin is definitely worth a short-term grab while he's hot.

  • D.J. Augustin
    PG, Orlando Magic

D.J. Augustin had a solid outing on Monday with 17 points (4-of-9 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), five rebounds, six assists, one 3-pointer and one steal in 29 minutes.

Augustin has been a serviceable play so far over the last week and change. Tonight, he clearly outplayed starter Markelle Fultz, who mustered a disappointing three points on 1-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 31 minutes. Fultz is still the player to own here but owners will need a bit of patience in weathering this stormy patch.

  • D.J. Augustin
    PG, Orlando Magic

D.J. Augustin played 29 minutes off the bench in Friday's loss to the Blazers, finishing with 17 points (6-for-16 shooting), three assists, two triples and a rebound.

If you streamed Augustin for some points production here, pat yourself on the back. He serves a role on the Magic as a scorer off the bench and he occupies a similar role for fantasy teams providing streaming production as a points, threes and assists source.
