Dante Exum

    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

John Beilein says that Dante Exum will move into Jordan Clarkson's role in the rotation, and could play anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes on Friday night in his Cavs debut.

Clarkson was Cleveland's sixth man and one of the team's leading scorers, and while that's not exactly Exum's game it is encouraging that he'll get legitimate minutes after being mostly out of the rotation in Utah. Exum's worth watching closely in deep leagues and perhaps having more of a traditional and defensively inclined guard in the mix will elevate everyone's game. Exum has seen his playing time trend down every year since averaging 22.2 mpg as a rookie, but it sounds like he'll have a good chance to buck the trend.

The Cavs have agreed to trade Jordan Clarkson for Dante Exum and two second round picks.

The Cavs are selling high on Clarkson, who has been a solid scorer off the bench. They'll take a shot on Exum, who has shown flashes of potential, but has struggled to stay healthy. Exum should see increased minutes with the move, as he played more than ten minutes just three times this season with the Jazz. Kevin Porter Jr. could also see more time in place of Clarkson.

  • Mike Conley
    PG, Utah Jazz

Mike Conley (left hamstring strain) is being ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Wolves.

It is uncertain how much longer Conley will be out, but Joe Ingles will continue to reap the benefits in the meantime, while Emmanuel Mudiay and Dante Exum will see some extra time off the bench.

  • Dante Exum
    PG, Utah Jazz

Dante Exum (patellar tendon) has been upgraded to probable for Thursday's matchup against the Grizzlies on Friday.

Exum has been mired by injuries dating back to his sophomore season in the NBA. He last played a game on March 14, 2019 so it will be great to see him get back out there. He is best left on the waiver wire until he proves that he is healthy and a viable fantasy option. He is currently behind Mike Conley and Emmanuel Mudiay while both Donovan Mitchell and Joe Ingles also handle the ball at times during their games.

  • Emmanuel Mudiay
    PG, Utah Jazz

Emmanuel Mudiay (hamstring) and Dante Exum (patellar tendon) have been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Sixers.

With Exum and Mudiay again out, Mike Conley will continue to see a heavy dose of minutes while Joe Ingles gets a handful of extra minutes as a point-forward off the bench.

Dante Exum (partially torn right patellar tendon) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.

Exum has seen his career derailed by injuries up to this point. He is expected to have a minimal role off the Jazz bench when he is ready to go and is not on the fantasy radar in standard leagues.

  • Emmanuel Mudiay
    PG, Utah Jazz

Emmanuel Mudiay (left hamstring tightness) went through some portions of practice on Tuesday.

Mudiay only has a minimal role behind starter Mike Conley, and will soon have to fight for backup PG minutes with Dante Exum (patellar tendon) who looks to be on the verge of a return. Mudiay can be ignored unless an injury strikes.

Dante Exum remains out on Friday vs. the Kings as he continues to recover from a partially torn right patellar tendon.

Exum has been making progress in his recovery but will not make his return on Friday. He underwent surgery in late March and should return at some point but his return date remains unclear. He was able to participate in 3-on-3 play during Wednesday's practice. He is not on the fantasy radar but could have a small role off the bench for the Jazz.

  • Bojan Bogdanovic
    SF, Utah Jazz

After returning from a left ankle sprain for the second half of play on Wednesday, Bojan Bogdanovic is sitting out on Friday, joining Dante Exum (knee) on the sideline.

It is disappointing to learn Bogdanovic is going to have to sit this game out after he played well returning from the injury on Wednesday. Hopefully he is just playing it safe and taking a night off. Exum is getting closer to a return, but he is not going to have a role for standard-leagues.

Dante Exum (patellar tendon rehab) is still not ready to roll and will miss the Jazz's preseason game vs. the Kings on Monday.

Exum has been plagued with injuries his whole career, making him hard to trust in fantasy, even in the deepest of leagues.
