The Pelicans are discussing trades involving the eight pick in the draft, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Pels already turned pick No. 4 into Nos. 8, 17 and 35, and could continue to stockpile draft capital by moving down again. New Orleans is currently on the clock so we'll have some resolution soon. The Hornets are one of the teams that have been trying to trade up, reportedly, so we'll see what happens.

Pelicans GM David Griffin is looking to move the No. 4 pick on Thursday in exchange for a veteran along with a later first-round pick.

The Pelicans have been very active over the last week and will continue to be aggressive going into draft night. There has been speculation surrounding the No. 4 pick and one potential partner, the Wolves, have emerged as a candidate as they could send their No. 11 pick in return. The player rumored to be involved is 3-and-D specialist Robert Covington.

  • R.J Barrett

The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to assemble a package to get themselves the 2nd overall pick in the draft so that they can draft R.J Barrett before the Knicks can according to Peter Vecsey of the New York Post.

This potential deal would hinge on convincing the Grizzlies to pass up on Ja Morant, a seemingly unlikely move seeing how they just traded Mike Conley with no PG coming back in return. With all the assets in their arsenal it’s certainly feasible that the Pelicans could find a way to make this work, but as of now it seems like a steep mountain to overcome.

The Pelicans are considering trading the 4th overall selection to acquire more picks.

One team that comes directly to mind is the Hawks, who have been rumored to be offering a trade package including the 8th and 10th selections to move up in the draft. The Hawks also have the 17th pick in the draft. Another team with multiple first rounders is the Celtics, who hold the 14th, 20th and 22nd picks. The Pelicans have also been rumored to be trying to move up to the 2nd pick in the Draft. We'll have to wait and see if there is any fire to all of this smoke.

Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that multiple teams are already indicating significant interest in acquiring the No. 4 pick in next week's draft, which now belongs to the Pelicans.

In case you missed it, the Pelicans have agreed to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers for a package that includes the fourth selection in the 2019 draft, which the Pelicans may flip to get a quality roster player or another young asset. David Griffin stood firm in his requests on a Davis deal, and although he was unable to get Kyle Kuzma included in the trade, the Pelicans came away with Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, two future first-rounders and the No. 4 pick in next week's draft, which could lead to more picks or additional players. Expect New Orleans to be at the center of plenty of rumors over the next few days.
