Pelicans reserve guard DeAndre Liggins (thigh contusion) is listed as probable for Wednesday's matchup against the Lakers. Liggins suffered the injury in Monday's game against the Pistons, but stayed in the game. The reserve guard…

The Heat have waived both DeAndre Liggins and Charles Cooke in order to sign Rodney Purvis and Raphiael Putney.
These moves are being made with the team's G-League affiliate in mind. If any of these players sees enough time to come within miles of the fantasy radar it means something has gone wrong in Miami.

The Heat have signed DeAndre Liggins and Charles Cooke while waiving Marcus Lee and Malik Newman in corresponding moves.
The two rookies that were waived were not going to factor in for the Heat this season. Cooke and Liggins both spent time with the Pelicans last season and the addition of Liggins in particular, coupled with Miami's current injury woes on the wings, makes you wonder if the Heat are readying some kind of insurance if their players aren't ready for the season.

The New Orleans Pelicans have waived guard DeAndre Liggins.
With career averages of 2.0 points in 10.8 minutes per game over five seasons with seven different teams, Liggins just isn't very good despite his decent defense. Even if he ends up making a roster he'll be inconsequential for fantasy purposes.

DeAndre Liggins played in 57 games for the Bucks and the Pelicans this season.
Liggins averaged 12.7 mpg with 1.1 money counters in another otherwise forgettable stat line and wasn't on the fantasy radar.

DeAndre Liggins and Darius Miller will start for the Pelicans on Saturday night.
Rajon Rondo and Nikola Mirotic are out, so this is the new look that Alvin Gentry will try tonight. Emeka Okafor usually starts at center but plays limited minutes so the Pels will cut to the chase and just start Miller at power forward. He's a 3-point streamer while Liggins is irrelevant in fantasy.

Rajon Rondo (right wrist sprain) is out against the Rockets on Saturday.
The Pelicans are in a tight race in the West right now so it would have to be bad for Rondo to not play. With nine games left, the Pelicans are currently fifth with a possibility of finishing third or falling out of the playoffs completely. Rondo is averaging almost a double-double over the last month with 10.3 points, 9.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals. In the last game Rondo missed on March 17, DeAndre Liggins drew the start and put up three points and three rebounds in 20 minutes. Ian Clark will see an uptick in minutes as well.

Jrue Holiday will not play on Tuesday as he’s dealing with flu-like symptoms.
With Holiday out, Rajon Rondo will take on a huge chunk of the playmaking duties and should see some more minutes than he’s used to. The Pels have used DeAndre Liggins as a fill-in starter but he’s pretty useless for fantasy purposes, and it’ll be Ian Clark that owners should be targeting off the bench.

Rajon Rondo will play on Sunday after receiving a rest day on Saturday.
Consider this confirmation that Rondo will slot back into the starting lineup tonight against the Celtics. DeAndre Liggins will slide back to the bench while Ian Clark might see a small reduction in minutes despite a dynamite outing yesterday.

DeAndre Liggins drew the start on Saturday with Rajon Rondo resting and predictably did little for fantasy purposes, finishing with three rebounds, a steal, a block and a triple in 20 minutes.
Curiously, Liggins didn’t score at all in his previous two starts. He’s a defense-first (and perhaps defense-only) option that won’t have any impact on fantasy leagues. And while Rondo sat this one out, he still made an appearance in the box score by picking up a technical from the bench.
March 17, 2018, 5:29 pmRajon RondoPG, New Orleans Pelicans
Rajon Rondo has been ruled out of Saturday’s game with the Rockets for rest purposes and Alvin Gentry says that DeAndre Liggins will likely draw into the starting five.
The Pels have a back-to-back and face Boston tomorrow, so Rondo should be fresh as a daisy for that matchup. Liggins is not a fantasy option in any format and is not even a lock to exceed 18 minutes tonight. Jrue Holiday should get a nice boost with more ball-handling duties headed his way but it’s not like you needed extra convincing to get him in your lineups tonight.
