  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

According to Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune, there are some legs to the rumor that Derrick Favors could be heading to the Jazz in the offseason after spending the 2019-20 season with the Pelicans.

There will be interest in the veteran big from multiple teams so the two parties will both have to independently come to the conclusion that this will be the best move going forward. Favors had spent the majority of his career with the Jazz, playing 576 out of a possible 683 games for the club. The Jazz would definitely be getting an upgrade if they were to get Favors as Ed Davis had a very disappointing season.

    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors corralled 10 points, 12 rebounds and a block on Sunday against the Spurs.

Favors now has two straight double-doubles but has continued to frustrate inside the bubble. While he is still effective, he just doesn't fit with New Orleans' young talent and their run-and-gun lean. We'll see what next season holds for Favors. As for the final two games, we may see less of the regulars now that the Pelicans are out of the postseason chase.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors notched a double-double on Friday in a win over the Wizards, scoring 12 points (5-for-8 FG) and throwing in 10 rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes.

Zion Williamson (rest) was sitting this one out, so Favors got the start. He made an impact, but the volume was really only there because of the absence of Williamson. Favors still has an important role with Pelicans, though, and will continue to see minutes off the bench when Williamson returns.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors took just four shots on his way to six points in Thursday's loss to the Kings.

Favors didn't do much else either, grabbing just four rebounds to go with one assist and one turnover in 22 minutes. Josh Hart actually produced more off the bench with 11 points (4-of-5 FG), three rebounds, three assists, one steal, one 3-pointer and three turnovers in 23 minutes. Despite the fact that Favors starts, Hart is the player that should be looked at in standard leagues for the rest of the resumption season as he brings more to the table than the 29-year-old.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors was largely ineffective in a tight loss to the Jazz on Thursday, playing 28 minutes but only taking three shots, scoring two points and grabbing eight boards.

Favors did show up on the defensive end with three steals, but wasn't involved in the offense at all as Rudy Gobert patrolled the paint and didn't do Favors any favors on that side of the court. Fellow big man Jaxson Hayes was also limited offensively, with just two points on two attempts to go with his seven boards. This is probably a matchup blip going against one of the premier rim protectors in the league and the Pelicans' big men should be more effective in the next contest.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors was scoreless in Wednesday's scrimmage against the Bucks, but tallied three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.

Favors only attempted one shot and took most of the night off as he only played 17 minutes. He's going to keep his legs fresh for the resumption of the season and has always been a guy that has had his minutes monitored, so we're not going to read into this one too much.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes put up 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, one assist and a steal on Wednesday against the Bucks.

Hayes didn't tally a single block and his 7-for-11 free throw shooting is right in line with his seasonal averages. He helped fuel the bench unit to take the win over the Bucks in the fourth quarter, but is still a budding prospect and will likely play behind Jahlil Okafor and Derrick Favors.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes came off the bench on Saturday and scored 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting with six rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes.

Derrick Favors (six points in 12 minutes) returned tonight and started for the Pelicans. Favors is a better player than Hayes right now, but Hayes could see an increased role next season if the unrestricted free-agent Favors doesn't return to the Pelicans. Hayes deserves a roster spot on rebuilding teams in dynasty leagues as he profiles to potentially be a high-efficiency double-double threat with blocks.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Alvin Gentry informed the media that Derrick Favors (rest) will not participate in Wednesday's game vs. the Nets.

The Pelicans elected to have their 10-year veteran sit out of the team's first scrimmage. This means that we will probably see more of Jaxson Hayes and Jahlil Okafor on Wednesday. Favors will be ready once the regular season games resume and could see an increased workload if Zion Williamson (personal) misses time.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors finished with top-110 value during 2019-20 despite playing 24.2 minutes per night on average.

While Favors was less productive after the debut of Zion Williamson, he dominated the glass with a career-high 9.9 rebounds per game. Favors also averaged 9.2 points, 1.7 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.6 steals en route to top-90 valuation in 9-category leagues. While the 62 percent shooting from the field was his highest single-season mark, Favors combined it with a career-low 58.1 percent conversion rate on free throws.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Understanding both side's perspective when it comes to resuming play, Derrick Favors said he will "probably" play for the Pelicans in Orlando.

Favors' feels it is largely a personal decision on whether players decide to return, and he also believes there will be opportunities in the bubble to address societal issues while also playing basketball. COVID-19 risks are weighing on him more than anything. With Zion Williamson revving up his play before the stoppage in activity, Favors was relegated to a minor role on offense, making him a late-round value in standard leagues. He'll help in rebounds and blocks, but his days of double-doubles are behind him for this season.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors posted 10 points, 14 rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's OT loss to the Mavs.

Favors had a big putback in the extra session but has settled into a modest offensive role on the new-look Pelicans. He's got two double-doubles in his last three but is more of a late-round option these days. Outside of boards, the rest of his production has been fairly spotty since Zion Williamson debuted.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors double-doubled with 12 points and 14 boards in a loss to the Lakers on Sunday.

Favors shot 5-of-12 from the field and added one steal and one block in 27 minutes of action. Although the return of Zion Williamson has caused a sharp decline in Favors' value, he still remains a late-round value for teams that need rebounding and field goal percentage.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors' muted offensive production continued on Friday with just five points, though he was able to chip in 15 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 24 minutes of work.

Favors has exceeded 25 minutes just once in the month of February, and the return of Zion Williamson has hit him the hardest of any Pelican. He's outside the top-150 in the last month and it doesn't look like that'll be changing anytime soon. This was a nice response after Wednesday's zero-point, five-rebound dud against the Bucks, but at this point Favors isn't a must-hold unless you're looking for boards and blocks.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson looked unstoppable again in Friday's win over the Blazers, adding 25 points (10-for-17 shooting), four rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Williamson did miss five of his 10 free throw attempts in what really seems to be the only potential blemish on his exciting and developing fantasy profile. He could definitely end up being a big factor in fantasy playoffs this season. Derrick Favors started alongside the rookie phenom and posted eight points, 12 rebounds and a steal.
