Understanding both side's perspective when it comes to resuming play, Derrick Favors said he will "probably" play for the Pelicans in Orlando.

Favors' feels it is largely a personal decision on whether players decide to return, and he also believes there will be opportunities in the bubble to address societal issues while also playing basketball. COVID-19 risks are weighing on him more than anything. With Zion Williamson revving up his play before the stoppage in activity, Favors was relegated to a minor role on offense, making him a late-round value in standard leagues. He'll help in rebounds and blocks, but his days of double-doubles are behind him for this season.

Derrick Favors posted 10 points, 14 rebounds, a steal and a block in Wednesday's OT loss to the Mavs.

Favors had a big putback in the extra session but has settled into a modest offensive role on the new-look Pelicans. He's got two double-doubles in his last three but is more of a late-round option these days. Outside of boards, the rest of his production has been fairly spotty since Zion Williamson debuted.

    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors double-doubled with 12 points and 14 boards in a loss to the Lakers on Sunday.

Favors shot 5-of-12 from the field and added one steal and one block in 27 minutes of action. Although the return of Zion Williamson has caused a sharp decline in Favors' value, he still remains a late-round value for teams that need rebounding and field goal percentage.

Derrick Favors' muted offensive production continued on Friday with just five points, though he was able to chip in 15 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 24 minutes of work.

Favors has exceeded 25 minutes just once in the month of February, and the return of Zion Williamson has hit him the hardest of any Pelican. He's outside the top-150 in the last month and it doesn't look like that'll be changing anytime soon. This was a nice response after Wednesday's zero-point, five-rebound dud against the Bucks, but at this point Favors isn't a must-hold unless you're looking for boards and blocks.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson looked unstoppable again in Friday's win over the Blazers, adding 25 points (10-for-17 shooting), four rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Williamson did miss five of his 10 free throw attempts in what really seems to be the only potential blemish on his exciting and developing fantasy profile. He could definitely end up being a big factor in fantasy playoffs this season. Derrick Favors started alongside the rookie phenom and posted eight points, 12 rebounds and a steal.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors was limited to 20 minutes on Thursday, netting eight points with nine boards and two assists.

The points and rebounds are still coming along, but the low minutes are a bit concerning. He had a strong 15-rebound game last outing though so we're going to attribute this to the matchup and the fact that the Pelicans needed some shooting. Now that Zion Williamson is healthy, we can expect Favors to sit whenever the Pelicans go small.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors scored eight points on 4-of-5 shooting to go with a game-high 15 rebounds while adding an assist and a block on Thursday.

There it is. We've been preaching patience with Favors for a bit now because of his ability to do things like this. He won't always be this good, but he deserves to be on rosters in standard leagues with how the Pelicans are going to utilize him.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson was added to the injury report with a right toe sprain ahead of Thursday's matchup vs. the Bulls.

Williamson is in jeopardy of missing his first game since his return to the court after he was sidelined for the first three months with a right knee injury. The good news is that the injury doesn't appear to be a re-aggravation of any kind. Derrick Favors and Jaxson Hayes will be in line for more opportunity if Zion sits out on Thursday.

Derrick Favors failed to score (0-of-3 FGs) in 25 minutes Tuesday, and only had five rebounds and one blocks.

The downward trend continues. His production has decreased since Zion Williamson burst on the scene a couple of weeks ago. Favors continues to get decent floor time but the scoring and rebounding opportunities are not the same with Zion around.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors was able to procure nine points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes on Sunday.

Josh Hart's fantastic game off the bench didn't help matters, but Favors has been playing well under 30 minutes per game since Zion Williamson got healthy. 23.2 mpg last year didn't prevent him from solid middle-round numbers, but it's definitely not great news for him overall. On pace for a career-best in rebounds, expect that to dip as the year winds down.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors double-doubled on Wednesday night, ending with 11 points, 10 rebounds and a single steal.

Favors was able to make an impact in the game despite Zion Williamson entering the fray. The biggest loser here is Jaxson Hayes who saw 16 minutes and only put up nine points and three rebounds with a block.

Derrick Favors will return and start on Wednesday after missing one game with lower back soreness.

Favors has been producing mid-round value while he's on the court. His injuries have been the only thing holding him back. Favors will likely take a slight hit with Zion Williamson returning on Wednesday, but he should continue to start on keep standard-league value. His return combined with Zion returning is a big blow to Jaxson Hayes' value and Hayes moves to being a luxury stash only in standard-leagues.

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game.

Favors and teammate Jahlil Okafor have both been upgraded to probable. This news should push Jaxson Hayes and Nicolo Melli back to lesser roles.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (lower back soreness) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game.

He was previously considered questionable but should be good to go after being out for about a week. Outside of his last appearance on January 13, Okafor hasn't delivered much value recently and Derrick Favors is also expected to be available.

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) will be a game-time decision ahead of Wednesday's game.

Jaxson Hayes should see more minutes if Favors doesn't play. Favors can strung together two straight games with at least 21 points and 11 rebounds, so the Pelicans are hoping he'll be available.
