Derrick Williams has agreed to a single-season deal with Fenerbahce.

Williams, the second overall pick in 2011, last appeared in the NBA in two games with the Lakers in 2017-18. He spent last season playing with Bayern Munich and will look to raise his profile with a strong season in Turkey. Expect Williams to float around the workout circuit every summer in hopes of an NBA return.

On Tuesday, Bayern Munich of the German basketball league made the signing of Derrick Williams official.

Williams has played in 436 games with the Wolves, the Kings, the Knicks, the Heat, the Cavs and the Lakers. He signed with the Tianjin Gold Lions in China last year but was able to secure a 10-day contract with the Lakers at the end of the season. Look for his name to show up again when NBA teams are allowed to offer 10-day contracts.

The Pistons have released a list of free agents who will attend a mini camp that includes former No. 2 overall pick Derrick Williams.

Williams is the biggest name of the bunch and had been a fairly consistent presence in the league until last season, when he appeared in just two contests as a member of the Lakers. Prior to that he'd at least held down an NBA job even if it came in short stints with multiple teams. Other names to recently appear in the NBA include John Jenkins, Jordan McRae and Diamond Stone.

Derrick Williams logged eight minutes in Wednesday’s loss, picking up two points and a rebound in his Lakers debut.

Williams’ playing time could’ve been a result of Kyle Kuzma’s absence but we’d be shocked if he became a fantasy option this season, even in deep leagues.

Derrick Williams is available but doubtful to play on Friday vs. the Nuggets.

Owners of Julius Randle, Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez can breathe collective sigh of relief. That’s the last thing you need coming up on H2H playoff season. Hopefully, Williams won’t get enough run to impact any of them.

The former number two overall pick has been playing overseas in China and was averaging 20.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Williams will provide depth to the back end of the Lakers bench and does not warrant ownership in standard leagues.
