Dewayne Dedmon

Fantasy News

  • Bruno Fernando
    PF, Atlanta Hawks

Bruno Fernando started on Wednesday and scored 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting with nine boards and one steal in 22 minutes.

Fernando got the start with Dewayne Dedmon (right elbow pain) sitting out. Fernando can be streamed for field goal percentage, rebounds and blocks while Dedmon is sidelined and should return to the waiver wire once Dedmon returns. Dedmon owners should hold on through his absence if they can, as he is likely to post standard-league value when he returns.

  • Dewayne Dedmon
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Bruno Fernando will start against the Magic on Wednesday in place of Dewayne Dedmon (right elbow pain), who has been ruled out.

Dedmon has been on a nice stretch since joining the Hawks. Fernando will draw the start while Damian Jones will see some minutes off the bench. Neither Fernando nor Jones are viable in fantasy this season but Fernando could have some DFS appeal as a low-cost option. Dedmon's next opportunity to play will be on Friday vs. the Nets.

Dewayne Dedmon has been downgraded to questionable ahead of Wednesday's tilt vs. the Magic as he deals with pain in his right elbow.

If Dedmon is unable to play on Wednesday, look for Bruno Fernando to start while Damian Jones see some time off the bench. Continue to monitor as we should learn more prior to the 7:30pm ET tip-off.

  • Dewayne Dedmon
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon (right elbow pain) is being listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Magic.

Dedmon entered the break with some momentum but has floundered a bit in the three games since play resumed failing to score double digits in any game. Dedmon played a mere 14 minutes in Monday's loss to the Sixers as he dealt with foul trouble early and often. With Clint Capela out for the foreseeable future, Dedmon will have the opportunity to get back on track as we enter the stretch run.

    C, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon managed eight points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes on Saturday night.

Dedmon's got a little extra leash with news that Clint Capela will be out for multiple weeks. He's been a middle-round option in the last two weeks and there's no reason to think that won't continue for as long as Capela is out.

  • John Collins
    PF, Atlanta Hawks

John Collins racked up two steals and three blocks to add a jolt to an otherwise quiet 12 points and seven rebounds on Thursday night.

Collins has been a huge asset on a per-game basis and as long as Clint Capela is out, he is going to be an elite option. Right now, Dewayne Dedmon is starting at center for the Hawks and isn't providing much, going scoreless with eight boards in 20 minutes. We'll see how the rotation shakes out when Capela is healthy, but it shouldn't affect Collins too much because of his ability to stretch the floor.

  • Clint Capela
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Clint Capela (right heel contusion) will be out for "weeks" according to Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce.

The Hawks have little incentive to rush Capela and Dewayne Dedmon should see steady minutes while he is sidelined. Still, this is a longer absence than most observers would have expected. Capela is a double-double machine when healthy, but hopefully your league has an injured reserve spot if you own him.

  • Clint Capela
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Clint Capela (right heel contusion) will not be available for Thursday's game against the Heat.

Capela hasn't yet made his debut for the Hawks. He averaged 13.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game before the Rockets traded him away. Dewayne Dedmon should continue to start in his absence.

  • Clint Capela
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Clint Capela (right heel) did not participate in Tuesday's practice.

Capela doesn't have a specific target date as he continues to fight the heel issue. With Capela out, Dewayne Dedmon will continue to absorb the bulk of minutes at C with Damian Jones backing him up. Over his past four games, Dedmon has averaged 8.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 3.8 blocks and 1.0 trey in 28.3 minutes per game.

  • Dewayne Dedmon
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon will start in Wednesday's game vs. the Hawks, forcing Damian Jones back to the second unit.

Dedmon has once again become standard league fantasy relevant since re-joining the Hawks. Dedmon should continue to be streamed for as long as Clint Capela (foot) remains out. The situation will get murky when Capela returns to action but it should not be assumed that Capela returns the first game out of the break, although it is possible.

  • Dewayne Dedmon
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon came off the bench again on Monday and scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go with nine rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two triples.

Dedmon is getting enough minutes to warrant ownership in all leagues. Keep in mind that when Clint Capela (foot) returns, things might change a lot for Dedmon, but for now he should be owned everywhere.

  • Dewayne Dedmon
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon played well in his first game back with the Hawks on Sunday against the Knicks as he put up 10 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in 33 minutes of action.

Dedmon shot 4-of-12 from the field and made one 3-pointer. Dedmon will only have relevance in standard formats when Clint Capela is out like he was on Sunday night. Aside from that, he could provide deep-league rebounding and blocks help.

  • Clint Capela
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Clint Capela (right calcaneus contusion) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Knicks.

This should come as no surprise knowing Capela was ruled out until after the All-Star break when playing for the Rockets. Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins will handle the center minutes until Capela is able to play,

  • Dewayne Dedmon
    C, Atlanta Hawks

Dewayne Dedmon (trade pending) is inactive for Friday's game vs. the Celtics.

Dedmon will have a solid role while Clint Capela heals, but eventually, he will shift to a bench role that will limit him to deep leagues only. He's not unleashed like he wanted to be after departing Sacramento, but at least he will have a stable set of minutes now.

Dewayne Dedmon (trade pending) is questionable to play on Friday.

Things still have to be made official by the league, and while most players usually end up missing a game after being traded, Dedmon may get pushed through in time to suit up tonight. He figures to start for as long as Clint Capela is out, which puts him on the map as a short-term option in 12-team formats.
