With the Western Conference stacked full of former NBA MVPs, the Mavs and their fans have been more than okay with a full-on rebuild, especially when it has helped land Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. While 33…

The city of Dallas has approved the renaming of Olive Street, which runs by the American Airlines Center, to Nowitzki Way.
What an accomplishment for the Mavs legend and future HOFer. Mark Cuban said that he is "excited" for the big man and came up with a few funny lines of how he will take jabs at Dirk in the future. Nowitzki has been having a blast since his retirement started, and we wish him nothing but the best.

Dirk Nowitzki said in a year or two that he can see himself being happy as a coach or manager.
Dirk also mentioned that in the past week alone he's had cake and his first glass of wine after ten years of abstinence. Dirk is clearly enjoying his retirement and when he heals up a bit, it will be fun to see him roaming the sidelines. Dirk should have no problems finding teams interested in his services when he does decide to get into the coaching circle.

Dirk Nowitzki put an exclamation point at the end of his Hall of Fame career on Wednesday night, scoring 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting with two treys, 10 boards and a steal against the Spurs.
Dirk leaves the game as one of the league's great dominant forces, a rare player that becomes unstoppable due to a combination of skill, physical dominance or intangibles. In his case it was the size, shooting and release point that made most closeouts ineffective, opening up the entire floor not just for himself but for an entire generation of spacers and stretch fives. The NBA will miss Dirk and we're all appreciative of his work both on and off the court.

Rick Carlisle said that the plan is for Dirk Nowitzki to play on Wednesday against the Spurs.
Everything clicked for Dirk on Tuesday as he scored 30 points before officially announcing his retirement, but it appears that NBA fans will get another chance to watch him play tonight in San Antonio. Still, the Mavs are on the second leg of a back-back-back so it’s unlikely that Dirk has another throwback performance.

Dirk Nowitzki shot 11-for-31 from the field and 3-for-3 from the line for 30 points with eight boards, three assists, one block and five 3-pointers in 33 minutes on Tuesday.
Dirk Day indeed. He scored the first 10 points for the Mavs, turning back the clock on 21 legendary seasons with one franchise. It was the final home game for the future Hall-of-Famer, as he announced his impending retirement minutes after the game, in what is his last game in Dallas. The Mavs play the second leg of a back-to-back, so it will be interesting to see if Dirk ices his knees to go for one final swan song. He will finish the 2018-19 season sixth all-time in NBA scoring, along with 14 all-star selections, the 2011 NBA Finals MVP and the 2007 NBA MVP, among a laundry list of awards. What a run. Thank you 41.

Dirk Nowitzki (rest) will not play in the second half of Sunday's game.
Nowitzki finishes with two points, five rebounds and a block on 1-of-5 shooting in 12 minutes. Whatever keeps Dirk healthy for the last two games is good with us, as it's more about the feels than the production this year anyway.

Dirk Nowitzki turned back the clock on Saturday night, scoring 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go with five rebounds, two blocks and five 3-pointers against the Warriors.
Nowitzki adds another fun moment to what could be his final season, and it was a feel-good showing for a Mavs team that went into Golden State and blew out the defending champs. Dirk isn't much of a fantasy option but if you were daring (i.e., crazy) enough to use him in DFS tonight it certainly paid off.

Dirk Nowitzki scored eight important points on Monday, as he passed Wilt Chamberlain for sixth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
Dirk is generally getting minutes in the teens (12 tonight), and isn't giving fantasy players anything but possibly streaming-level threes at this point.
March 16, 2019, 11:02 pmDirk NowitzkiF, Dallas Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki had his first well-rounded fantasy game of the season on Saturday, putting up 14 points, six rebounds, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes of action.
Dirk finished the night four points back of Wilt Chamberlain, so expect a big night on Monday. He set a new season-high in playing time and tied season-highs in steals and blocks, and while you shouldn't expect another game like this out of Nowitzki for quite some time, it's still really cool to see.

Dirk Nowitzki (load management) is available to play Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
With Maxi Kleber questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wizards, the Mavs will need the extra big body in Dirk.

Dirk Nowitzki shot poorly (2-of-13 from the field, including 0-of-7 from deep), scoring just four points in 19 minutes of a blowout loss to the Nets on Monday.
Dirk has been creeping into streamer territory over the past four games, but this was one to forget, as he only added four rebounds and four assists. He can't be relied on in standard leagues right now.
February 28, 2019, 5:31 pmDirk NowitzkiF, Dallas Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki says that he's still considering returning for next season and will hold off on a retirement decision until the summer.
Nowitzki says he's feeling great and is excited about the direction of the Mavs with Luka Doncic, so he might give it one more kick at the can if he feels up to it. The legend has started in the past three games and hit double digits in each, but unless he starts playing mid-twenties minutes on the regular there still isn't much appeal in fantasy.
February 26, 2019, 1:14 amDirk NowitzkiF, Dallas Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki logged 26 minutes in a start for the Mavs on Monday and delivered 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, two triples, one assist and one block.
The old man still has it but there clearly isn't much left in his 40-year-old tank. This is just a victory-lap season to celebrate his awesome 20-year NBA career. Unfortunately, he's not more than an afterthought in fantasy, outside of very deep leagues right now.
February 16, 2019, 4:04 pmDirk NowitzkiF, Dallas Mavericks
Dirk Nowitzki said he has not made any final decision on if this is his last season.
"I haven't said this will be it," Nowitzki said, "I'm going to wait and see the last couple of weeks, how my body feels and if I continue to see improvement and I'm still having fun, we'll see." While Dirk has been treating this season as a retirement tour, there's still a chance we see him playing next season.
