Dwight Howard was productive in his 25 minutes off the bench on Monday, dropping a 14-point, 15-rebound double-double (no blocks).
Howard has been outperforming JaVale McGee and he's been rewarded with solid minutes. For the time being and possibly ROS, Howard is the center to own from Laketown.

Dwight Howard double-doubled with 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes vs. the Spurs on Tuesday.
Howard has continued to improve throughout the season, which is far from what most expected. Over the last month, he ranks as a player to roster in 12-teams leagues if you're built to withstand his free throw percentage. If you are, his 10.4 rebounds per game over that span is irresistible. Fellow old-timer Rajon Rondo had seven points, four boards and nine dimes in 21 minutes in Tuesday's victory.

Dwight Howard picked up a double-double on Thursday with 14 points, 12 rebounds and three defensive counters in a win against the Nets.
Howard has been a very useful play for rebounds and blocked shots and is putting up perfectly realistic top-100 center stats. JaVale McGee's absence surely played into Howard's production.

Dwight Howard turned 27 minutes off the bench into five points, 12 rebounds, a steal and three blocks on Wednesday
Howard saw more minutes than starter, JaVale McGee who was limited to 17 minutes of action and ended with six points and five rebounds. Howard continues to provide value on the boards even with Anthony Davis back in the lineup. Although this might not last as AD gets back to his regular minutes.

JaVale McGee ended Wednesday's contest one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 14 points (a perfect 7-of-7 shooting), nine boards and three blocks.
McGee was one of the few bright spots for the Lakers' starting five but saw less minutes than Dwight Howard coming off the bench to the tune of nine points and 16 rebounds.

Anthony Davis has been ruled out of Wednesday's game with a gluteus maximus contusion.
Frank Vogel wants Davis to practice on Friday before appearing in a game. It's mildly disappointing news for his owners, but it makes sense for the Lakers to protect their big man. Feel free to fire up Dwight Howard in DFS leagues. JaVale McGee should also see a boost.

Anthony Davis (gluteus maximus contusion) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Magic.
Davis managed to practice on Tuesday after missing Monday's contest. The Lakers are being careful with the superstar thanks in part to a 33-7 record. Dwight Howard had a terrific night when Davis was out against the Cavs.

Dwight Howard had his best game of the season on Monday with 21 points and 15 rebounds to go with two assists and a 3-pointer.
He went 9-for-11 from the field and 2-of-3 at the line. Howard had a monster game, but still didn't register any defensive stats. The Lakers played one of the worst teams in the league and he did all of this in only 25 minutes of action. There's not much to chase here in terms of fantasy value.

Dwight Howard posted his third double-double of the season as he scored 12 points in Saturday's win over the Thunder, finishing with 14 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and converting all of his free throws.
Even with teammate Anthony Davis out with injury, Howard found himself in the same role off the bench with JaVale McGee getting the start. Nonetheless, Howard had the better game tonight as he not only double-doubled but also swatted two shots and was 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Even when Davis returns, it might be worthwhile to pick Howard up in shallow leagues and in some deeper leagues.

Dwight Howard blocked five shots and pulled down 13 boards in the Lakers win over the Knicks on Tuesday, adding eight points (3-for-3 FGs), one steal and even a 3-pointer in 25 minutes.
Howard garnered a few extra minutes due to the blowout and Anthony Davis exiting early with a sacral contusion. Howard and JaVale McGee are in line for a few extra minutes per game while Davis recovers. McGee played 14 minutes and had six points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

The Lakers are set to guarantee Dwight Howard's contract for the remainder of the season by Tuesday's 2:00 p.m. PT deadline.
This comes as no surprise as the big man has played his role well this season as the backup C for the first place Lakers. In 19.5 minutes per game, Howard is averaging 7.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks while shooting .74 percent from the field. Howard's free-throw shooting has kept him off the standard league map, but he is a serviceable big man in deeper leagues.

Dwight Howard came off the bench for 11 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in 18 minutes on Saturday night.
JaVale McGee started, as is customary, but picked up four fouls in his 11 minutes. McGee finished with four points, four rebounds and a block of his own in that time. Both players are only borderline assets in most formats, though teams in need of blocks can find limited production here. McGee remains the better player to roster.

Anthony Davis' (right ankle sprain) status for Thursday's contest vs. the Bucks will be determined after his pregame workout, making him a game-time decision.
The entire NBA fanbase is hoping for Davis to be able to play on Thursday as the game will feature the two teams with the best records. If Davis doesn't play, Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee will see additional opportunity while Jared Dudley could see some minutes as well.

Anthony Davis (right ankle sprain) is questionable ahead of Thursday's game against the Bucks.
Davis missed his second game of the season on Tuesday but is hopeful that he will play in Thursday's showdown vs. the Bucks. If Davis does miss the game, Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee will see an uptick in minutes. The Lakers may struggle to beat the East's best team without one of their superstars. Continue to check for updates as we will learn more regarding his status tomorrow.

Dwight Howard didn't miss from the field on Tuesday in a loss to the Pacers, putting up 20 points (10-of-10 FGs, 0-of-3 FTs), six rebounds and two blocks in 26 minutes.
Howard is still helping quite a bit in blocks and field goal percentage, but aside from average rebounds for a big, he's not providing much of anything else right now. JaVale McGee had a nice start with 10 points, eight rebounds, an assist and three blocks in 22 minutes tonight.
