Eric Gordon put up 17 points, four assists, three 3-pointers and a steal in Friday's start.

The Rockets opted to go super small without Clint Capela, playing eight guys with nobody over 6'6". Gordon is typically the winner when someone sits on the wings but if this is Houston's new M.O., he might be worth a shot as a bench guy in standard leagues. He has been playing well lately so you could do worse for points and threes in the short term.

Eric Gordon will be in the starting lineup on Wednesday with James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

Gordon is replacing Ben McLemore in the starting lineup after posting a career-high 50 points on Monday. Gordon has been on a tear lately but has struggled to have standard-league value when the Rockets are at full strength. He is a good sell-high option after the 50-point explosion and the news of him starting.

    C, Houston Rockets

Clint Capela (right heel contusion) is available on Wednesday vs. the Blazers.

Capela missed Monday's contest but will return on Wednesday and should be back to his usual minutes. Eric Gordon, P.J. Tucker and Danuel House Jr. will all take a hit with James Harden and Capela returning on Wednesday.

Eric Gordon drew the start on Monday and responded by setting a new career-high with 50 points on 14-of-22 shooting (16-of-20 FTs) to go with six rebounds, three assists, two steals, a block and six 3-pointers.

Gordon was the trigger man tonight and did his best James Harden impersonation. The Jazz just couldn't stop him on the pick-and-roll dives and couple that with his hot shooting from deep and you have what may be his best game of the season. His value goes back to 3-point streaming specialist when the Rockets are healthy as Gordon usually doesn't handle the ball this much.

  • Clint Capela
    C, Houston Rockets

Clint Capela (right heel contusion) is now listed as out for Monday's game against the Jazz.

In addition to Capela, the Rockets will be without James Harden (left thigh contusion) and Russell Westbrook (rest). Eric Gordon, Danuel House and Austin Rivers will all start and have the potential to launch a bunch of threes.

  • Russell Westbrook
    PG, Houston Rockets

Russell Westbrook will be held out of Monday's game for rest purposes.

Westbrook has been sitting out one half of back-to-backs, so this isn't surprising. Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers should get all the minutes they can handle against the Jazz.

    SG, Houston Rockets

Eric Gordon scored 19 points on 5-of-14 shooting with three rebounds, one steal and one block over 35 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Nuggets.

Gordon has been on a heater and though his season-long numbers haven't been great he can usually get going at a late-round level when he's not struggling. He has a nice ramp right now with James Harden (thigh) doubtful for Monday's game and Russell Westbrook (rest) also out.

  • Eric Gordon
    SG, Houston Rockets

Eric Gordon was on fire on Friday, making 6-of-13 shots from beyond the 3-point arc to finish with 28 points on 8-of-17 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists.

Gordon was the second scoring option for the Rockets tonight with James Harden slowed by his thigh. Gordon is streaky and can light it up like this on occasion. On the other side of that streaky coin, he can also run cold and tank your fantasy team's FG percentage to the ground. For now, he's worth an add in the event that Harden is forced to miss any games.

    SG, Houston Rockets

Eric Gordon hit six triples on Wednesday, ending with 25 points (8-11 FG, 6-8 3PT) while adding just two assists and a block.

Gordon came off the bench and saw 29 minutes of action, limiting Ben McLemore to 18 minutes and two points despite getting the start. Outside of the scoring, Gordon didn't contribute much and probably isn't worth more than a points stream in standard leagues at this point.

  • Eric Gordon
    SG, Houston Rockets

Eric Gordon had shown signs of turning things around, making 9-of-22 3-pointers against the Grizzlies and the Blazers, but in the two games since, he has made just 4-of-17 from behind the arc, while shooting 7-of-26 overall.

His 13.2 points per game and 34.3 field goal percentage are the worst of his 12-year career, but some of that can be attributed to him starting the season struggling through a knee injury. Since his return from surgery, he has made just 37.3 percent of his shots, with a solid 36 percent from the 3-point line, and the hope is that he soon recovers his old form.

Eric Gordon had one of his better games on Tuesday, hitting four treys and scoring 23 points (9-of-19 FGs) in 32 minutes off the bench while adding four rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Gordon has been reduced to a player that's simply great in threes, good in points and below average everywhere else, most notably in both percentages. He's a good fit on certain teams, but if you roster him, make sure your team is one of them. Clint Capela dropped in 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, 16 rebounds and two assists in this loss as well.

Eric Gordon (right knee soreness) will warm up on Thursday but is considered out for the game against the Thunder.

At least he's healthy enough to warm up? It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Rockets are sitting Gordon on a SEGABABA, and fantasy players will have to look elsewhere for threes tonight. Austin Rivers should get extra run.

Eric Gordon (right knee soreness) is questionable for Thursday's game.

Gordon drew the start for the resting Russell Westbrook on Wednesday and scored 17 points with three 3-pointers, though his poor shooting (5-of-14 FG, 4-of-7 FT) really undid all the good work from the scoring column. We wouldn't expect Gordon to play in back-to-backs for a little while as he's only played four times since undergoing right knee surgery, but you never know.

Eric Gordon will start for Russell Westbrook (rest) on Wednesday against the Hawks.

This will be Gordon's fourth start of the season and he has the opportunity in front of him to produce a solid line on Wednesday. Gordon has been off the fantasy radar so far this season but could have some appeal in DFS with Westbrook out of the lineup.

Eric Gordon will play in Atlanta on Wednesday but his status has yet to be determined for Thursday.

The Rockets have been pretty routine about resting some guys on their B2B sets, and Gordon seems like a prime candidate since he's coming off knee surgery. He's only a 3-point streaming option for now but could be a pickup if his percentages get back in order.
