  • Devaughn Akoon-Purcell
    PG, Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder have waived DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell, Abdul Gaddy, Myke Henry and Eric Moreland.

The moves put OKC's roster down to 16 players. None of these players are on the fantasy radar.

  • Patrick Beverley
    PG, Los Angeles Clippers

Patrick Beverley has stated reducing the number of technical fouls as one of his goals for the upcoming season.

The 31-year-old journeyman sees the development as a sign of his maturity. Beverley had the fifth-most technical fouls in the league with 14 last season, just two away from triggering an automatic suspension. Already a safe bet to miss games throughout the year, any hint that he's dedicated to staying on the court when he actually is healthy is a good sign. Beverley is a solid, if low upside option in the late rounds.

  • Eric Moreland
    PF, Toronto Raptors

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that Eric Moreland and the Thunder have come to terms on a training camp contract.

Moreland went through training camp with the Raptors last season before getting cut, had a stint during the season with the Suns, and ended up back with the Raptors where he logged five games last season. He will see if he has any better luck as he tries to make the Thunder's final roster this time around.

    C, Toronto Raptors

Eric Moreland re-debuted for the Raptors on Tuesday night, posting four rebounds and a steal in seven minutes of action.

Moreland was with the Raptors in training camp and nearly made the roster, but he ended up being the final cut and spent a little time in Phoenix before ending up back in Toronto. They let him go again after his 10-day contracts expired but re-signed him as center insurance for the postseason run. Moreland was outside the top-425 in his five games and profiles as a rebounder and shot-blocker if he ever pans out, though his hustle and defensive smarts at least give him a shot at it.

    PF/C, Toronto Raptors

The Raptors have signed Eric Moreland for the remainder of the season on Tuesday and he is eligible for the playoffs.

Moreland will provide depth to the Raptors frontcourt as they look to make a deep run in the playoffs. Moreland is well off the fantasy radar.

  • Eric Moreland
    C, Toronto Raptors

Eric Moreland made his Raptors debut in Thursday's win over the Lakers, playing five minutes and picking up two points and five rebounds.

Moreland played the tail end of the fourth quarter when the lead hovered around 10. Marc Gasol was nursing a minor shoulder injury and the Raptors wanted a look at Moreland, who was just signed yesterday, since he's going to need to see some time on Sunday against the Pistons. He's an active rebounder and defender that was with the team in training camp and did his thing in limited time tonight. Deep-leaguers can give Moreland a look as a rebounding stream on Sunday.

    C, Toronto Raptors

Eric Moreland will sign a 10-day contract with the Raptors, per Michael Scotto of The Athletic.

It's a move that makes a ton of sense with Serge Ibaka out for the next three games. Moreland will provide the Raptors with a stronger backup to Marc Gasol than the wiry Chris Boucher, and that's going to come in handy with the Pistons on deck this weekend. Moreland nearly earned a two-way deal out of training camp (Boucher ended up getting it) but the Raptors were fans of his work and he's been an excellent defender throughout his professional career. Center is a spot that could use some shoring up on the Raptors roster, so it's possible that he can hang around past this 10-day engagement.

  • Eric Moreland
    C, Phoenix Suns

The Suns have waived Eric Moreland.

Moreland only appeared in one game for Phoenix but should generate some attention as a quality rebounder and rim protector. There's going to be a lot of fringe players hitting waivers in the next week or so as the two-day contract deadlines lead to roster churn around the league.

The Suns will sign free agent Eric Moreland.

Moreland was with the Pistons last season and spent the summer with the Raptors, who liked him enough to acquire his G-League rights as well. He's an excellent defender and a great rim protector, while also providing great energy on the glass. Moreland should fill the Tyson Chandler role in Phoenix, although he actually gives them youth, upside, and a number of other things that could be useful in the future. He probably won't play much behind Deandre Ayton and Richaun Holmes but it's a nice flier for the Suns.

    F/C, Toronto Raptors

The Raptors waived Eric Moreland, Kyle Collinsworth, Kay Felder and Deng Adel.

Moreland and Adel were fighting for the team's last two-way contract spot but the Raptors went with Chris Boucher instead. This is a more familiar group than most on the waiver wire right now so we wouldn't be surprised to see some of these players get picked up relatively quickly.

  • Eric Moreland
    F/C, Toronto Raptors

The Raptors and Eric Moreland have agreed to a one-year, partially guaranteed contract.

Moreland was Detroit's backup center last season, playing in a career-high 67 games and averaging 4.1 points and 0.8 blocks in 12.0 mpg. He'll be Toronto's third center, though he might end up being fourth in terms of actual playing time at the position if he makes the final roster. It's an uphill battle but his rebounding would give the team a different dynamic in a pinch. Raptors writer Blake Murphy is reporting that it's an Exhibit 10 deal.

The Dertoit Pistons have requested waivers on Eric Moreland.

Moreland will not be joining the Pistons next season and this move comes in line with the team signing center Zaza Pachulia for a year.

    PF/C, Detroit Pistons

Eric Moreland set career-highs in both scoring (16) and rebounding (17) and also added four assists, four steals and four blocks over 41 minutes in Wednesday's season finale against the Bulls.

Moreland was a pure backup in Detroit and saw 12.0 mpg in 67 contests, and this is far and away the biggest performance of his career. If he can stay healthy and find a path to minutes he might have shown that he's capable of producing big man stats.

    C, Detroit Pistons

Eric Moreland drew his first start of the season and responded with a career-high 11 points, seven boards, two steals, one block and one assist on 5-of-6 shooting against the Raptors on Monday.

Moreland will likely have another opportunity to start on Wednesday in the season finale against the Bulls so keep him in mind if you need a DFS punt play. Given Moreland is 26 years old it’s unlikely that he will emerge as a key cog in the future.
