    SG/SF, Miami Heat

Wayne Ellington has been confirmed as available to play Thursday against the Sixers.

Other than Dion Waiters who is out for the season, the Heat are finally at full strength. This creates a good problem for them as they have too many players to play. We will have to wait and see how coach Erik Spoelstra constructs his rotation tonight against Philly. Ellington could push for 20 minutes on the wing if he returns fully healthy.

Erik Spoelstra said Wayne Ellington went through full shootaround and has “the intention to give it a go” Thursday vs. the Sixers.

We will have to wait for the final injury report, but the Heat may be looking at their healthiest lineup in a long time. With the exception of Dion Waiters, every player may be available tonight which creates a logjam for coach Spoelstra. Value will be a little harder to come by if everyone’s minutes and touches are dropping. Spoelstra may end up changing the rotation based on performance and it could cause headaches for owners of their role players.

Wayne Ellington has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Lakers with a quad injury.

Ellington and Tyler Johnson have both been ruled out with quad injuries for Thursday’s game. Erik Spoelstra has said he does not want Dwyane Wade starting, but we may see Josh Richardson slide down to the two with Justise Winslow starting at the three. This scenario would open up playing time for James Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, and Rodney McGruder. McGruder will be in his second game back from his stress fracture so expect for Johnson and Olynyk to handle minutes at the four while Winslow and Richardson slide down.

  • Rodney McGruder
    SG, Miami Heat

Rodney McGruder will play with Sioux Falls on Saturday and Monday before rejoining the Heat on Tuesday.

McGruder has been out for the entire season so far with surgery on his leg following a stress fracture. The Heat front office seems to love him. Both Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra have commented on his ‘grit’ and ‘hustle’ in the past. Playing time seems like it may be hard to come by, especially with the recent addition of Dwyane Wade, but McGruder started 65 games last season and played in a team high 78 games so it is clear that the Heat like him. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, his contributions do not show up in the box score as much, but he is worth monitoring when he returns as the Heat may try to get him minutes early on.
