  • Hasheem Thabeet
    C, Free Agent

Hasheem Thabeet has been participating in informal scrimmages with the Knicks this week.

The Knicks have one training camp invite left and could choose to use that on Thabeet. Thabeet has reportedly been working out for multiple teams this month. The Bucks are likely to invite Thabeet back for a second workout. While still a long shot, the former number two overall pick resurfacing in an NBA training camp is gaining steam.

  • Carmelo Anthony
    PF, Free Agent

Carmelo Anthony participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage with some Knicks players on Thursday.

The Knicks have 15 guaranteed deals on their roster and one spot remaining for their training camp, so it may be tough for Melo to catch on, but this is the second known workout in the past week and long overdue. If things go well, maybe we'll see additional teams take a look at the former scoring champ. For now, Melo can be ignored in fantasy drafts.

  • Spencer Hawes
    C, Free Agent

Spencer Hawes is scheduled to work out for the Philadelphia 76ers according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Hawes has been out of the league since the 2016-2017 season where he played in 35 games for the Charlotte Hornets, and spent most of last season playing for the Lakers' G-League affiliate. While the Sixers lack depth at center, Hawes is a far bet to make the team and an even farther bet to have any fantasy value.

  • Joe Johnson
    F, Free Agent

Joe Johnson will work out for the Sixers on Thursday and is expected to have workouts with the Clippers, Bucks and Nuggets.

Johnson will be playing in the Big 3 Championship on Sunday. He has been by far the best player in the Big 3 posting league-leading averages of 21.9 points and 3.9 assists. He would be a welcomed addition to any title-contending team as he is a bonafide scorer and could have a positive impact within a locker room. The 38-year-old will be left undrafted in standard leagues as his stat set is too narrow at this point of his career.

A.J. English is attending a free-agent mini-camp with the Sixers on Thursday.

The former Iona guard played his ball in Greece last season. English is a long shot to make the roster, but he will compete with other free agents to make an impression on the Sixers' brass. This news has no fantasy ramifications.

The Knicks have brought in free agent guard Malcolm Delaney for a minicamp workout for the week.

Delaney played his ball in China last year and averaged 19.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists on 46.5 percent shooting and over 40 percent on 3-pointers. We'll see if he ultimately lands a deal with the Knicks, but he has put himself in position to possibly get a shot in the G-League.

  • Marreese Speights
    C, Free Agent

Marreese Speights will work out for the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday according to Alex Kennedy of Hoopshype.

Speights spent last year playing in China and will attempt his NBA comeback with the Lakers. who are in desperate need of an additional center. He is among three centers the Lakers are looking into, the others being Dwight Howard and Joakim Noah. Of those three, Speights unquestionably has the best floor spacing ability, which would be his strongest bet to eke out those other two for the job.

  • Marcus Georges-Hunt
    SG, Free Agent

Jay King of The Athletic is hearing that Marcus Georges-Hunt is in Boston working out with the Celtics for the next few days.

Georges-Hunt last played in the NBA for the Wolves in the 2017-18 season. Last season Georges-Hunt was waived from the Celtics in mid-October and played nine games for the Red Claws. Georges-Hunt is a longshot to make the team and carries no fantasy relevance regardless of the outcome.

The Wizards have waived Tarik Phillip on Thursday.

Phillip signed with the Wizards at the end of last season but failed to see the court. Phillip will hope to land with another team to achieve his dream of playing in an NBA game. He has no relevance on the fantasy landscape. The Wizards roster is now down to 17 players.

  • Carmelo Anthony
    PF, Free Agent

Carmelo Anthony has been in Los Angeles participating in informal workouts and scrimmages with some of the Nets players.

Anthony may not get another chance to play in the NBA. However, the speculation surrounding the 10-time All-Star has been rampant with the Lakers and Clippers as the most likely landing spots. It is unlikely that he winds up with the Nets as they would have to waive another player to make room for him on the 15-man roster.

  • Michael Beasley
    F, Free Agent

Michael Beasley is reportedly leaning towards accepting an offer in China that is worth approximately $5 million, according to Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

Beasley was just suspended for five games for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy, but he was highly unlikely to open the year in the NBA anyway. He finished last season in China after being waived by the Clippers and his NBA career might've already seen its final chapter.

The NBA has suspended free agent Michael Beasley for five games due to a violation of the league's anti-drug policy.

It is unclear whether Beasley will return to the NBA this season after finishing last year in the CBA. The news of this suspension will only further prevent teams from adding the former second overall pick from 2008. He can be ignored from a fantasy perspective.

  • Carmelo Anthony
    PF, Free Agent

Carmelo Anthony will not be invited to Team USA according to Shams Charania.

There has been speculation that this would be a good idea and supposing he wants to get back into the league it wouldn't be the worst idea for him to show he can still play, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards.

  • Monta Ellis
    G, Free Agent

Per Jordan Shultz of ESPN, Monta Ellis is scheduled to work out privately for at least five NBA teams on July 8th as he attempts an NBA comeback.

Ellis last played in the NBA for the Pacers in the 2016-17 season. Before his underwhelming two-year stint in Indiana, Ellis averaged over 19 ppg as a dynamic dual guard. Ellis will be 34 in October, and it's hard to believe there's much, if any, left in the tank, but maybe he can give a few minutes a night as a deep-reserve for a contending team.

  • Amar'e Stoudemire
    C-F, Free Agent

Per Jordan Shultz of ESPN, Amar'e Stoudemire is scheduled to work out privately for at least five NBA teams on July 8th as he attempts an NBA comeback.

Amar'e was last seen playing professional basketball in Israel in 2017 and hasn't been in the NBA since the 2015-16 season. He'll be 37 in November and has an extensive injury history. It's hard to envision him doing much of anything, but crazier things have happened.
