Hasheem Thabeet signed a G-League contract on Tuesday per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Thabeet had multiple workouts this summer but ultimately came up short on getting a camp invite. He'll play in the G League with an eye towards getting back in the NBA at some point if he shows well. Thabeet has no fantasy value.

Hasheem Thabeet worked out for the Warriors on Friday.
Thabeet has not played in the NBA since the 2013-14 season after being selected second overall in 2009 but the Warriors are kicking the tires as they are thin in the frontcourt with Alen Smailagic and Willie Cauley-Stein currently on the shelf.

Hasheem Thabeet will work out for the Knicks this week, marking at least his second session with the team.
Thabeet had previously been participating in informal scrimmages with the team. The frontcourt depth chart is fairly full but Thabeet could earn a look in training camp. There won't be any fantasy value if he does complete his NBA comeback.

Hasheem Thabeet has been participating in informal scrimmages with the Knicks this week.
The Knicks have one training camp invite left and could choose to use that on Thabeet. Thabeet has reportedly been working out for multiple teams this month. The Bucks are likely to invite Thabeet back for a second workout. While still a long shot, the former number two overall pick resurfacing in an NBA training camp is gaining steam.

Hasheem Thabeet worked out for the Rockets, Raptors and Pistons while the teams were in Charlotte for All-Star weekend.
Thabeet was the second overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Grizzlies and was quickly one of the biggest busts in NBA history. He was the highest overall pick to be sent to the then D-League until Anthony Bennett secured the top spot. Thabeet is somehow still only 31 years old, and 7'2" centers can certainly provide value in today's NBA, but it's unlikely Thabeet finds his way back into the league. He's currently playing in the Japanese B-League.
