The Sixers have signed Haywood Highsmith to an Exhibit 10 contract.

Highsmith was with the Sixers last season on a two-way contract before being waived at the conclusion of the season. After only playing a total of eight minutes in the NBA in his first season, Highsmith is clearly not on the fantasy radar. However, the Sixers are apparently interested in his development as they are attempting to keep him within their organization for a second straight season.

Highsmith appeared in five games with the Sixers last season while on a two-way contract. If he can get his deal converted into a standard contract, he'll serve as emergency wing depth for the Suns.

Haywood Highsmith scored 16 points in Friday's Summer League win, going 6-of-11 from the field with two blocks and two triples.

Highsmith was waived by the Sixers back in June and will look to latch on with another team before camps start in September. He's an accomplished 3-point shooter and flashed a versatile stat set in college, so he should be able to get some looks.

The Sixers have waived Haywood Highsmith.

Highsmith joined the Sixers on a two-way deal last season but only appeared in five games. Expect them to use that spot on a more established G-League player or a rookie with some upside.

With an open two-way slot after releasing Demetrius Jackson, the Sixers will sign rookie Haywood Highsmith.

Highsmith went undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft and profiles as a two-way perimeter forward the Sixers have been desperate for since the departure of Robert Covington. He averaged 15.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocks over a four-year career at Wheeling Jesuit, a Division II college. He has played in 21 games with the Delaware Blue Coats this season, averaging 13.8 points and 6.9 rebounds, while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 39.4 percent from behind the arc.
