James Ennis (hamstring) will not play on Saturday against the Pelicans.

Coach Mike D’Antoni expects Ennis to play on Monday vs. the Grizzlies so it looks like just one more missed game from Ennis. He was previously putting up low-end deep-league numbers as a 3-and-D guy but was losing value when he got hurt. Now, he’ll return to compete with Austin Rivers and Danuel House for minutes and it doesn’t appear he’ll be able to improve on his numbers.

Mike D'Antoni expects James Ennis (hamstring) to return on New Year's Eve.

Ennis' return could complicate Austin Rivers' fantasy value and Ennis himself can be watched from the wire.

According to coach Mike D'Antoni, James Ennis III "could miss another couple of weeks."

He could be back a little after Christmas. Hopefully. Until then, expect to see more of Danuel House, who has some appeal in very deep leagues.

James Ennis III (hamstring) will miss 1-2 weeks.

Coach Mike D'Antoni said he could increase minutes for Danuel House, Gerald Green or play rookie Gary Clark again. Only deep leaguers are eyeing any of these guys so their values won't change much.

James Ennis will miss "a few days" according to Mike D'Antoni after suffering a strained hamstring in Tuesday's game against the Blazers.

Ennis' absence will end up maxing P.J. Tucker out and after that Gerald Green (13 points, five boards, one assist, one steal, two blocks, three treys, 21 minutes) and Danuel House Jr. (12 points, five boards, one steal, one three, 4-of-8 FGs, 19 minutes) become worth a look in DFS and as spot starts.

James Ennis (hamstring) will not return on Tuesday against the Blazers.

Ennis pulled up lame in the third quarter and went down holding his right hamstring. He went to the locker room with trainers and was quickly ruled out. Ennis finished the game with two points and five boards in 18 minutes. P.J. Tucker and Daniel House Jr. are beneficiaries if Ennis has to miss meaningful time.

James Ennis (hamstring) grabbed his right leg and left with trainers to the locker room on Tuesday.

Ennis left in the third quarter. If he misses any time, P.J. Tucker and Daniel House Jr. get a boost. Stay tuned for updates.

James Ennis hit 3-of-5 shots on Monday against the Wolves, scoring nine points with five boards and a steal.

Ennis is not an option outside of 16-team leagues as he doesn't contribute in any area of the box. He did outplay P.J. Tucker (three points, nine boards, 1-of-7 shooting) tonight but his inability to rack up multiple counters or solid boards limits his upside.

James Ennis III scored 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting with three rebounds in a loss to the Mavs on Wednesday.

Ennis is inside the top-175 in value this season, but has failed to deliver consistent solid stat lines despite seeing heavy minutes. He is a good source of steals and 3-pointers and hopefully he can get his points up as the season progresses. Danuel House Jr. backed up Ennis and scored 18 points with five rebounds on 6-of-13 shooting in 23 minutes, but this is likely a fluke performance since both Chris Paul and Gerald Green were out.

  • Eric Gordon
    G, Houston Rockets

Eric Gordon shot 4-for-14 from the field and finished with 11 points (one 3), two assists and a steal in Friday’s road loss to the Pistons.

Gordon’s 32.6 percent shooting coming into tonight’s game has been a major drag on his value and he’s barely inside the top-250 in 9-cat. James Ennis III chipped in five points (one 3) and two steals and has been a better play (top-150) than Gordon over the last few weeks for his ability to consistently get 3s and steals.

James Ennis scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds, one steal and two blocks over 34 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Nuggets.

Ennis' game log hasn't been kind but there are a lot of available minutes in Houston so owners should keep at least one eye on this situation. We've seen Ennis struggle to produce in fantasy leagues even when getting solid run, but this is Houston so again keep one eye on the beneficiaries there.

    F, Houston Rockets

James Ennis III put up 15 points in 17 minutes on 5-of-8 shooting in a win over the Bulls on Saturday.

He also added one rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block to the stat sheet. He just returned from a hamstring injury, so a performance like this one is promising. Gary Clark, whose minutes have gone up since Ennis got hurt, had six points with seven rebounds and three defensive stats. However, Ennis is a top-200 value and this was a fluke performance from Clark so do not look too much into their play from this game.

    F, Houston Rockets

James Ennis (hamstring) will play on Saturday against the Bulls, as expected.

Ennis is only a low-end option in very deep leagues right now, but that could change if he works his way up the food chain in Houston a bit. That will require he outplay Carmelo Anthony and the Rockets will give Melo every chance to keep his 26-28 mpg role.

  • James Ennis III
    F, Houston Rockets

James Ennis (questionable) is listed as probable on the injury report against the Bulls on Saturday.

We are not sure if this is a re-aggravation or if James Ennis was downgraded because this is the second game of a back-to-back and that hamstring injures should be treated with caution. He started in his return on Friday after missing three games and scored two points with one block in 22 minutes. He is outside of fantasy league relevance unless he starts consistently making at least two triples a game to be a super deep league specialist.
