  • Jarrett Jack - G - New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans announced on Saturday that they have waived Jarrett Jack and Garlon Green.

This means Kenrich Williams, Jahlil Okafor and Troy Williams have likely won the last three roster spots although their contracts have not been guaranteed yet. Green may return overseas where he has been for the last several years while Jack may catch on with a team later this season for some veteran leadership after a productive campaign with the Knicks last year.

  • Jarrett Jack - G - New Orleans Pelicans

Jarrett Jack has signed a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Pelicans.

The veteran will compete for a reserve point guard spot. It's a pretty good landing spot as the Pelicans have Elfrid Payton as the starter and then not much else in terms of true point guards, though Jrue Holiday obviously handles a lot of playmaking work. Jack was shut down during the season last year after serving as New York's starter in the early going. He won't be a fantasy option even if he makes the final roster.

  • Jarrett Jack - PG - New York Knicks

Jarrett Jack played 19 minutes in the Knicks' season-ending victory over the Cavs on Wednesday night, scoring six points and adding three rebounds and four assists.

In a year where the Knicks were supposed to embrace a youth movement, Jack ended up starting 56 games at the point guard position of the 62 he played. He averaged 7.5 points and 5.6 assists on the year. Even though he was no fantasy dynamite, finishing safely outside the top-250, Jack's veteran leadership guided the Knicks to a better start than anyone anticipated and it was only after Kristaps Porzingis' season-ending injury that the Knicks went into tank mode and sat Jack 19 games in a row. As a leader on this team with a crowded backcourt, it's hard to gauge what kind of future Jack has with the Knicks. That future may end up on a coaching staff instead of on the floor.

  • Jarrett Jack - PG - New York Knicks

Jarrett Jack is unlikely to play in any of the Knicks’ remaining games.

As expected. There’s always an outside chance if one of Emmanuel Mudiay, Frank Ntilikina or Trey Burke gets injured or if the Knicks are getting hammered with foul trouble, but Jack is most likely going to ride out the season as a locker room mentor. He can be dropped in all formats if he hasn’t been already.

  • Jarrett Jack - PG - New York Knicks

Jarrett Jack said on Tuesday that he might explore his possible options with Thursday’s deadline on playoff eligibility rapidly approaching.

Jack hasn’t seen the court in three straight games after the All-Star break and he admitted that he didn’t fully expect this kind of transformation for his role. Asked about whether Thursday’s deadline intrigues him, Jack said: “To be honest, I don’t know. I’ve never been in this situation before. I never even thought about jumping from one team in the middle of the season to join another.” It wouldn’t be surprising to see Jack getting released tomorrow as Trey Burke, Emmanuel Mudiay and Frank Ntilikina have been productive running the offense for the Knicks. Jack has been a pleasant surprise and he could land with a contender but his fantasy value won’t be the same as it was earlier this year.

  • Emmanuel Mudiay - PG - New York Knicks

Emmanuel Mudiay got his first start for the Knicks on Thursday but ended up with a lackluster performance, scoring eight points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Mudiay displaced Jarrett Jack (DNP-CD) in the starting lineup but failed to make a splash. You can do one of two things here. Hold him and hope that he’s still just acclimating to his new role and team or drop him for some fresh emerging talent on the wire. He’s still worth a hold in 16-team leagues or deeper, but can be dropped in standard-sized leagues for a hot FA.

  • Trey Burke - PG - New York Knicks

Trey Burke had a field day against the Magic on Thursday and blew up for 26 points, four rebounds,
six dimes, two treys, a steal and a block in 30 minutes off the bench.

Jarrett Jack got a DNP-CD in this game, which resulted in some extra court time for Burke. This could just be an outlying game, considering Burke has not managed to do much since joining the Knicks. However, with their renewed focus on developing young talent, Burke could just have officially leapfrogged Jack in the rotation, making him worth a look in very deep leagues as of now.

  • Emmanuel Mudiay - PG - New York Knicks

Emmanuel Mudiay will be the Knicks’ starting point guard Thursday at Orlando

This is great news for Mudiay as he has only played three games with New York and now already gets a chance to start. This was the expected move and Mudiay had been working on his conditioning to get himself ready for the extra minutes. The Knicks are finally realizing that Jarrett Jack playing meaningful minutes isn’t helping anyone which bodes well for both young point guards. Mudiay should be owned in standard leagues as long as he’s starting.
