Jason Smith

Fantasy News

  • Jason Smith
    F/C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jason Smith did not play for the Pelicans on Friday vs. the Wolves with a DNP-CD.

Smith, who was traded to the Pelicans in the trade deadline whirlwind, may not make the rotation cut, so he's best left on the wire for now.

  • Stanley Johnson
    F, New Orleans Pelicans

Stanley Johnson and Jason Smith will be available to play on Friday vs. the Wolves but coach Alvin Gentry said he wasn’t sure how much they’d play.

Johnson has been a disappointment so far so maybe a change of scenery (and a tanking Pelicans team) will help him out. Smith won’t be used much, if at all, when all of the Pelicans’ bigs are active.

    F/C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jason Smith has been traded to the Pelicans.

Smith's on the move but doesn't figure to play much in New Orleans. He's currently battling left knee soreness and is not a fantasy factor.

  • Jason Smith
    F/C, Milwaukee Bucks

Jason Smith (left knee soreness) is questionable to play on Monday.

Smith's presence or absence has no impact on the fantasy landscape.

  • Jason Smith
    F/C, Milwaukee Bucks

Jason Smith made his Bucks debut on Monday night, picking up four rebounds and missing all three shots in five minutes.

Smith only got into this game because Milwaukee got up big on the terrible Cavs. He's not a fantasy option.

  • Jason Smith
    F/C, Milwaukee Bucks

Jason Smith will be available to make his Bucks debut on Sunday night.

Smith was just traded from the Wizards, who received Sam Dekker in the exchange. He brings a stretch four-ish skillset to the table but isn't a fantasy option, as Smith is unlikely to be part of the rotation.

    F/C, Milwaukee Bucks

Jason Smith has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the George Hill-Matthew Dellavedova trade.

The Wizards came in late as a third party to the trade and will be receiving Sam Dekker while Jason Smith gets sit on a new bench in Milwaukee.

  • Jason Smith
    F/C, Washington Wizards

Jason Smith (neck soreness) is listed as questionable to face the Cavs on Saturday.

Smith has only played sparingly despite the injury to Dwight Howard (glutes) and isn't a fantasy option in just about any format.

  • Jason Smith
    F/C, Washington Wizards

Jason Smith played 24 minutes on Tuesday night and went 2-for-4 from the field for seven points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a 3-pointer.

Smith picked up the slack with Ian Mahinmi seeing only 20 minutes. It's going to be hard to trust Smith going forward since he's not a consistent rotation presence but he rewarded some lucky DFS player out there tonight. He's a deep league stream while Markieff Morris (concussion) is out but we can't recommend him for more than that.

  • Ian Mahinmi
    C, Washington Wizards

Ian Mahinmi (sore piriformis) will start on Friday against the Kings.

Mahinmi hasn’t done much to separate himself as the Wizards wait for Dwight Howard’s return. His return pushes Jason Smith back to the bench. Markieff Morris is still the big man to own in Washington.

    C/F, Washington Wizards

Jason Smith has picked up his player option for the 2018-2019 season and will make $5.45 million.

After this move, the Wizards are sitting at the fourth-highest amount of money committed to centers for next season, none of which are of the "new-age" archetype. With about $16.66 million committed to Ian Mahinmi, $12.78 million due to Marcin Gortat and now $5.45 million owed to Smith, the Wizards are going to have trouble making any impact roster moves this summer. Smith and Gortat will be expiring contracts but would require sweeteners to be able to deal them. As for Smith himself, he logged just 8.6 minutes per game in only 33 contests and was not fantasy relevant this season.
