Jaxson Hayes

Fantasy News

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes had his hands full in Thursday night's season finale, having to guard the likes of Nikola Vucevic and was limited to posting just 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, adding four rebounds and one block.

Hayes got the starting nod tonight with the Pelicans resting Derrick Favors and Zion Williamson, but was not much to look at in his 31 minutes on the floor. Jahlil Okafor was not much more impressive off the bench either with eight points, four boards and one block to his name.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes did not miss a shot in Tuesday's loss to the Kings, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and making his lone attempt from the free throw line.

Hayes also added five rebounds, one steal and one block to the box score in a spot start for the Pelicans tonight, who rested Derrick Favors. The Pelicans are officially out of the playoff hunt, so we might just see a little bit more of Hayes down the line.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli, E'Twaun Moore and Jaxson Hayes will start for the Pelicans on Tuesday night against the Kings.

The Pelicans, like the Kings, have been eliminated from playoff contention. Both teams are starting reserves and resting usual starters since the game is essentially meaningless. Hayes seems most likely to benefit, as his Orlando usage has been quite low.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors was largely ineffective in a tight loss to the Jazz on Thursday, playing 28 minutes but only taking three shots, scoring two points and grabbing eight boards.

Favors did show up on the defensive end with three steals, but wasn't involved in the offense at all as Rudy Gobert patrolled the paint and didn't do Favors any favors on that side of the court. Fellow big man Jaxson Hayes was also limited offensively, with just two points on two attempts to go with his seven boards. This is probably a matchup blip going against one of the premier rim protectors in the league and the Pelicans' big men should be more effective in the next contest.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes put up 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting with three rebounds, one assist and a steal on Wednesday against the Bucks.

Hayes didn't tally a single block and his 7-for-11 free throw shooting is right in line with his seasonal averages. He helped fuel the bench unit to take the win over the Bucks in the fourth quarter, but is still a budding prospect and will likely play behind Jahlil Okafor and Derrick Favors.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes came off the bench on Saturday and scored 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting with six rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes.

Derrick Favors (six points in 12 minutes) returned tonight and started for the Pelicans. Favors is a better player than Hayes right now, but Hayes could see an increased role next season if the unrestricted free-agent Favors doesn't return to the Pelicans. Hayes deserves a roster spot on rebuilding teams in dynasty leagues as he profiles to potentially be a high-efficiency double-double threat with blocks.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Alvin Gentry informed the media that Derrick Favors (rest) will not participate in Wednesday's game vs. the Nets.

The Pelicans elected to have their 10-year veteran sit out of the team's first scrimmage. This means that we will probably see more of Jaxson Hayes and Jahlil Okafor on Wednesday. Favors will be ready once the regular season games resume and could see an increased workload if Zion Williamson (personal) misses time.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

While limited to 17 minutes per night, Jaxson Hayes at times was an important fill-in for the Pelicans as he garnered top-280 value in 8-category leagues.

Hayes received 12 starts in his first NBA season mostly due to injuries. During a stretch in December, he scored double digit points in six of seven games. Overall he averaged 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.9 blocks. Hayes also laid claim to top-270 value for owners in 9-category formats. He certainly has potential but finds himself in a fairly crowded situation on this Pelicans roster.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson was added to the injury report with a right toe sprain ahead of Thursday's matchup vs. the Bulls.

Williamson is in jeopardy of missing his first game since his return to the court after he was sidelined for the first three months with a right knee injury. The good news is that the injury doesn't appear to be a re-aggravation of any kind. Derrick Favors and Jaxson Hayes will be in line for more opportunity if Zion sits out on Thursday.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors double-doubled on Wednesday night, ending with 11 points, 10 rebounds and a single steal.

Favors was able to make an impact in the game despite Zion Williamson entering the fray. The biggest loser here is Jaxson Hayes who saw 16 minutes and only put up nine points and three rebounds with a block.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (lower back soreness) is available on Wednesday vs. the Spurs.

Okafor is returning from injury on Wednesday along with teammates Derrick Favors and Zion Williamson. The Pelicans' front court just got crowded and Jaxson Hayes, Nicolo Melli and Okafor will struggle to have standard-league value with everyone healthy. Hayes is a luxury stash and the other two players can be left on the waiver wire.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors will return and start on Wednesday after missing one game with lower back soreness.

Favors has been producing mid-round value while he's on the court. His injuries have been the only thing holding him back. Favors will likely take a slight hit with Zion Williamson returning on Wednesday, but he should continue to start on keep standard-league value. His return combined with Zion returning is a big blow to Jaxson Hayes' value and Hayes moves to being a luxury stash only in standard-leagues.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game.

Favors and teammate Jahlil Okafor have both been upgraded to probable. This news should push Jaxson Hayes and Nicolo Melli back to lesser roles.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) will be a game-time decision ahead of Wednesday's game.

Jaxson Hayes should see more minutes if Favors doesn't play. Favors can strung together two straight games with at least 21 points and 11 rebounds, so the Pelicans are hoping he'll be available.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes started for Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) on Monday but was quiet in his 19 minutes on the floor, chipping in just five points, six rebounds and one block in a winning effort over the Grizzlies.

Hayes has been up and down all season, but should see better days as long as Favors remains sidelined. He's worth an add for a boost in boards and blocks.
