Coach Alvin Gentry said that all the Pelicans players should be available for tomorrow's open practice except 'maybe Jaxson Hayes.'
It's not exactly clear what Hayes is dealing with, but it's apparently minor. There are no signs yet that he will miss Monday's preseason action against the Hawks. Hayes currently has Derrick Favors and Jahlil Okafor ahead of him at centre and will really need to impress coaches to earn significant playing time to be fantasy-relevant in standard leagues.

The 2019 Summer League Second Team is comprised of Rui Hachimura, Lonnie Walker, Anfernee Simons, Jaxson Hayes and Chris Boucher.
Of the bunch, Hachimura looks the most likely to be fantasy-relevant this season. He's going to have a great chance to log minutes for a Wizards team that's short on depth at the forward spots. In three games in Vegas, Hachiumra averaged 19.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. Walker is looking to crack the rotation after an injury-plagued rookie season but might have a hard time outplaying San Antonio's capable guards. Simons could slot into the Portland backcourt with the departure of Seth Curry while Boucher is the reigning G-League MVP and Hayes looks like an interesting long-term prospect next to Zion Williamson in New Orleans.

Jaxson Hayes was noticeably quiet in Sunday's loss to the Grizzlies in Summer League, posting just nine points on 4-of-5 shooting with six boards and one steal.
Hayes has been a one of the more fun big men to watch in Summer League, so it's a shame to see him end it on a subdued note. However, he's already passed the eye test and he figures to be a good source of blocks and field goal percentage if given minutes and opportunity.

Jaxson Hayes recorded 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting, 12 rebounds and one block in Saturday's Summer League win over the Heat.
Hayes has been printing posters all Summer League, but we're going to have to wait until the preseason to have an acid test and see if he can do what he does against more formidable opponents. Until then, he's a must-add on your watch lists as a potential late-round source of boards and blocks.

Jaxson Hayes posted a solid stat-line against the Cavs in Wednesday's 99-78 blowout, scoring 13 points (6-of-8 shooting) to go with seven rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer in 24 minutes.
He did have seven fouls, but there wasn't much else to complain about in this one for Hayes. He's looked very solid in Summer League thus far for a player many thought was a project. It remains to be seen how he will fare against better talent, but all things have pointed in a positive direction for him early on in his professional debut.

Jaxson Hayes put on a show for fans on Monday night in his Summer League debut, erupting for 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field and 8-of-14 shooting from the line.
He also added four rebounds and three blocks. Hayes had some nice dunks. A lot of them, actually and even a sick poster-worthy slam over some poor Bulls player. He's going to be an interesting player to watch in the preseason, for sure. His free throw shooting could be a concern but he could be a good source of blocks and some scoring at a high efficiency from the field.

The Pelicans have officially completed their draft night trade, acquiring Jaxson Hayes, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Marcos Louzada Silva.
None of the Pels' rookies were able to suit up in the team's first two Summer League games but it's possible we see them over the course of next week. Hayes is the most interesting player of the bunch from a fantasy perspective and it'll be fun to see all the raw tools in a loose environment like Summer League.

Both Jaxson Hayes and Nickeil Alexander-Walker will not be playing for the Pelicans in Summer League on Saturday.
Both players are coming to the Pelicans via the Anthony Davis trade, which is still in the final stages of being pushed through. We should see either or both of them take the court soon once the dust settles.

The New Orleans Pelicans have selected Jaxson Hayes with the eighth pick of the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday.
Hayes adds some much-needed depth to the Pelicans’ frontcourt. He’s a solid rim protector with a nice dash of explosiveness in his step, allowing him to finish strong at the rim on the other end. He’s roughly being scouted as more of a “raw talent,” especially when you consider that most of his offensive game is limited to dunks and putbacks. That said, his defensive-minded game should fit in nicely with the already dynamic young core of players that the Pelicans have assembled recently – Zion Williamson, picked first overall as the centerpiece, of course.
