Jaxson Hayes

Fantasy News

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (lower back soreness) will not play on Monday.

Derrick Favors has also been ruled out, making Jaxson Hayes a valuable short-term play. Okafor has now missed a week of action, so this seems to be a nagging issue for him.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) will not play on Monday.

Favors is coming off two strong games but is unable to play. Jaxson Hayes will fill in for the big man. He's a solid play in daily leagues considering that Jahlil Okafor is also out.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) is being listed as questionable to play against the Grizzlies on Monday.

Favors returned to the lineup after battling a hamstring strain to produce 22 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's loss to the Clippers. If Favors sits this one out, Jaxson Hayes and Jahlil Okafor (questionable) would see extra minutes.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes handed out a career-high four assists to go along with 14 points, five rebounds and one block in only 15 minutes in Saturday's game against the Clippers.

Hayes finished the game 3-of-3 from the field and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line, in what was an extremely productive per-minute game against a good defense. As nice as this production was, as long as Derrick Favors is healthy and Hayes is seeing minutes in the teens, he can be left on the waiver wire.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (right hamstring strain) has been officially ruled in for Thursday’s tilt vs. the Jazz.

The return of Favors will likely make Jaxson Hayes and Jahlil Okafor a drop in standard leagues. However, it wouldn’t be foolish to hold onto Hayes for the next couple games to see how the situation develops.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (right hamstring strain) has been upgraded to probable for Thursday's matchup vs. the Jazz.

If Favors does return to action on Thursday, Jahlil Okafor and Jaxson Hayes will see their values diminish dramatically. It is safe to drop either for someone who has a clearer path to opportunity down the stretch.

  • Brandon Ingram
    SF, New Orleans Pelicans

Brandon Ingram (right knee soreness) is questionable to play on Thursday.

Ingram and Derrick Favors are "day-to-day" according to Alvin Gentry. Jaxson Hayes will have some appeal if they cannot play. Ingram has scored 25.1 points per game while shooting 40.7 percent from behind the arc.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (right hamstring strain) will miss Monday's game.

After being listed as questionable, the Pelicans will hold Favors out of action. Jaxson Hayes is someone to target in DFS leagues.

  • Brandon Ingram
    SF, New Orleans Pelicans

Brandon Ingram (right knee soreness) is unlikely to play during Monday's game.

Jaxson Hayes should see a boost in usage if Ingram is held out. Ingram leads the Pelicans in points (25.1) and rebounds (6.8) per game this season.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes scored a career-high 20 points, on 9-of-13 shooting from the field, in Saturday's loss to the Celtics, chipping in just two rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

Hayes played 26 minutes in this one and got to play well into garbage time in the loss. He was highly efficient from the field but stuttered from the charity line, converting just 2-of-5. The two blocks were nice but those that streamed him have to be disappointed in him just collecting two boards. He continues to be worthy of rostering in standard leagues as long as the Pelicans' frontcourt remains thinned by injuries.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes stepped up when Derrick Favors (hamstring strain) was ruled out of Friday's game with 18 points (7-of-9 FGs, 4-of-9 FTs), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 29 minutes.

Hayes has been on a roll and Favors' absence was the switch that opened up the floodgates. He's a worthwhile speculative add in standard leagues for his short-term upside. Favors managed to see just 11 minutes and chipped in two points, six rebounds, two steals and one block.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes was all over the place on Wednesday and made his presence felt with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting, adding 12 rebounds (career-high) and four blocks.

Wow. Hayes can really be an Energizer bunny-type of rim protector when he's in the zone like tonight. He's been quiet before this explosion and we'd like to see more before recommending an add.

  • Kenrich Williams
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Kenrich Williams (right lower back spasms) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.

Williams has not been a productive fantasy player, but Jaxson Hayes could see a few more minutes if he's absent.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes played just seven minutes on Christmas Day against the Nuggets.

With Derrick Favors getting 30 minutes in this one and Zion Williamson coming back at some point, Hayes is probably looking at the rock bottom of his production curve for the rest of his season. At some point he'll be back on the radar and possibly in a big way, so folks should keep at least one eye on him the rest of the way.
