Jay Triano has agreed to become the head assistant coach on the Hornets staff on Sunday.

Triano was the interim head coach for the Suns last season, but he was not hired back as they hired Igor Kokoskov. The Hornets needed a change of scenery on the coaching staff and head coach James Borrego is helping to bring that change. Hiring an experienced Triano will strengthen the coaching staff of the Hornets for sure.

The Hornets are in serious discussions to add Jay Triano to James Borrego’s coaching staff.

Triano took over the Suns’ head coaching duties three games into the season and finished the year as the interim coach but he missed out on securing the permanent job. He has been a well-respected assistant in the league for over 10 years and he won’t have a problem getting another opportunity soon.

Jay Triano was informed by the team that he was not in the running to be head coach.

Triano took over the head coaching duties three games into the season and helped develop the young talent on the Suns roster. He's still under contract for a season and may stay on the coaching staff based on who is hired.

Suns coach Jay Triano said the team will most likely start a more traditional lineup Thursday against the Jazz, with Tyson Chandler starting at center.

Triano said Chandler will start at the five with Dragan Bender starting at the four in order to combat Rudy Gobert. A bit surprising to see a tanking team make a lineup based around a matchup, but this most likely means Josh Jackson will slide down to shooting guard with Devin Booker unlikely to play. You hopefully are not using Chandler right now.
