The Magic have reportedly been "especially aggressive" in an attempt to trade for the Hawks' No. 3 selection in Thursday's draft, offering up pick No. 6 plus an additional first-rounder.

It would make for a big gamble by the Magic, who figure to find a top-level player even if they stand pat at No. 6. The fact that they'd be willing to trade futures to move up just three spots might suggest that they're really hoping to land Luka Doncic or Marvin Bagley. The Magic don't have any long-term foundational pieces on the current roster beyond Jonathan Isaac and maybe Aaron Gordon, but it looks like they've locked in on one specific prospect.

The Magic will choose between Wendell Carter Jr., Trae Young, Collin Sexton, Michael Porter Jr. and Kevin Knox at pick No. 6, per Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

The depth of the top-10 seems to leave a lot of different pathways open for Orlando, and aside from Jonathan Isaac they might not have any long-term players currently on the roster. They'll likely just take whoever is highest on their board regardless of position and go from there. Surprising selections could also leave Luka Doncic and Mo Bamba available at the sixth spot, so the Magic won't have any shortage of appealing picks tomorrow night.

The Magic have had some conversations to move up from the sixth overall pick.

The Magic are currently sitting in a situation where the main four big men and Luka Doncic are quite likely to be off the board before their pick at sixth overall. A potential trade up could be to secure a big body to build around. If this were the case, it's very possible that Nikola Vucevic could be on his way out, either in this move or a subsequent move. The point guard is the other huge need for the Magic, so they could be looking to secure someone like Doncic.
